Hoskins is going to have his work cut out for him during his first season. From what I see, the ceiling is 2-8, and the floor would be 0-10. Hopefully, he can put a solid staff in place, that will support him and bring something to the table. I know that hasn't been the case in the past.

He needs to bring in his own people that will support him no Floyd central staff. He going to have to revamp the whole system to make sure everyone understands what he wants from the bottom up. It going to upset a lot people but in the end to make a solid system and program changes have to occur or he will end up leaving.

That schedule is going to be an absolute grind every week.

Paintsville game is going to be interesting considering Hoskins just left there and his first game as HC at Floyd Central is back at Paintsville. I also think that’ll be the most important game on the schedule. You beat Paintsville and that gives your team some confidence and mojo heading into the following week. Definitely don’t want to get blown out either.

3 or 4 wins are possible. That should be considered a very successful first season under Hoskins. 2 wins and being competitive in most of your games would go a long way also. It’ll be important not to go winless and get running clocked a lot. That’ll be deflating.

Best of luck to the Jags and coach Hoskins!!!

You beat me to it on the playing Paintsville first game of the season. This will be huge for both programs.

i just dont see what coaches see in jobs like this its an uphill battle to build something i guess you hope to walk out with your reputation in tact if you fail but that schedule is not a kind one for the jags and im not sure a bad record is gonna inspire the program from the top down i truly do wish the best

Besides Belfry, JC and Pikeville what area jobs aren't an uphill battle? You build the absolute best you can and you have to love the grind. Winning state titles aren't the only results that matter. Yes, hes going to lose next year, Im sure he knows that. Its about long term growth. Its going to be a years long battle.

I think fc will continue to still be fc. I don’t think bringing in a new coach will do much for them. I think the best they do is 1-9

They had an excellent year in a really weak district. Hager did a fantastic job im not discrediting anything he did. They are not winning a state title anytime in the next idk 50 years or so. No one is outside of the 3 teams I mentioned and maybe Paintsville if they get back to the transfer portal have a shot at state wide success.  I hate the way you dont play for a "region title" anymore. football is a toughhhhh sport for multi school counties to compete in.

None of this matters. What matters is GREAT leaders of young men molding them into MEN. And from what I've seen in the last week alone Hoskins and Hager are WINNERS!! Both of these guys have had boots on the ground with their athletes helping in flood relief. Teaching kids values, respect, honor, dignity, the list goes on, which none of it took place on a football field.

Just to be fair, these are not the only coaches and athletes in eastern Kentucky that have done this. Kudos to all that have set aside themselves to help others.

I’ve been told a few times that Jamere Knuckles is coming to Floyd Central and has been working out with them. Is this somewhat true? I know he lives not 10 minutes from the school.

I would hope not because that would be highly illegal
