Pikeville 68, Shelby Valley 56
#1
Final from Pikeville.
#2
Score don’t indicate it
Heck of a game by valley
Lead 3/4th of the game
Was 6pt game
Under 2 min
Until the fouling started

District going to be interesting
Hardest playing team in the region
When they are locked in the can upset anyone

Keene is special
Closed the door with a big 3 tie game under 4
Sykes had a big night as well

Pikeville switching to the zone changed the game in my opinion. B. Johnson played great defense on Onkst but couldn’t get his game going on offense. J. Bartley and C. Johnson both kept the Wildcats in the game but will have to have a total team effort to get over that hump (offensively). 59th district being hosted at Shelby Valley should make for a great game/atmosphere assuming East Ridge doesn’t cause a big upset. Congrats Pikeville!

The game was much closer than 12 points. Ethan Sykes had a great game aswell as Jackson Keene and Cole Slone. Good guard play for the panthers tonight. All around solid team win. That halfcourt shot by Caden Johnson was crazy.

Great game for the Panthers. Shelby Valley came out swinging and Pikeville didn’t let it rattle them and played their game.

Defensively Pikeville had them shook. I know Slone and Keene probably combined for 10 steals. Sykes with great pressure on the top and Walters and Onkst holding down the fort in the back.

Shelby Valley shot the cover off the ball tonight and played super hard. That team can upset anyone at any moment.

At the end of the game in crunch time Sykes and Keene looked very comfortable and familiar with those moments and took over.

Reiterating what others have said, this one was closer than the score indicated. If Shelby Valley shoots the ball like they did tonight, they can upset anybody in the 15th on a given night. Caden Johnson played especially well. Shelby Valley led by 1 going into the 4th and Pikeville pulled away and won the 4th 23-10 but fouls late were a big part of that. I expect the district championship in a couple weeks to be another war.

This game was a nail biter until the end!

Shelby Valley out rebounded Pikeville which is surprising given size. Caden Johnson shot the cover off the ball and Bartley rebounds the ball like he is 6’4. This team could definitely upset some folks if all their horses get going at once.

Pikeville really pulled away at the end. Sykes played his best overall game of the year against his Alma mater. He and Keene shot the ball really well all night. Pikeville has all the peices in place to make a run in the region.

Excited to see these two teams meet again. Love a good rivalry game.

May have to give it to Martin County on that one.

First time I’ve got to watch Onkst in person and to say he’s the best in the region shouldn’t have been said. Give me Watts and Stewart 10/10. He is top 5 in region I’ll give it to him.

Pikeville continues their great stretch of play especially when it matters most.

I've said all season long that Valley will be a team no one wants to play come March, they're well coached and play hard.

Two teams right here that can make a run or end a top team's season in a month.
