Knott County Coach
#1
So does anyone know why the Knott County softball coach left and enrolled his daughter in the Perry County School District? And who will get the Knott County Coaching Job?

Thank you. I hadn’t really heard who would be taking over. Still kinda shocked about the previous coach leaving and taking to his daughter to Perry. It is a good deal for Perry though with adding another pitcher to their line-up. I am curious to see if Moberly joins the coaching staff at Perry. I do wish Hammond the best of luck for the upcoming season. He is adding two great players to his lineup as well, the McAlarnis sisters.  They excel on the softball field just like they do on the basketball court.

Word on the streets is this move was made with bigger plans for the future. Ratliff will soon be taking over as AD and Moberly is the next coach in waiting for the lady dores softball program.

I know Bobby Keith is planning to retire soon but I do not know when he plans to make it official. I also believe you are probably right about Moberly coming to Perry in hopes of eventually being the next head coach so Bobby can move into the AD spot but I am not 100% positive that Bobby will take over as the AD and the reason I say that is because you know there are others who are wanting to make the move from coaching to an AD job. And I am not saying Bobby isn’t qualified but you just never know how things will go in a school district. I also think another big factor that will determine if Bobby will be considered for the job is how receptive these parents are to Moberly. We all know that parents make a lot of the calls when it comes to sports at Perry. I have a feeling it will get interesting.

I’d say you’re absolutely right and once again that’s just word on the streets so their may not be anything to that but, I don’t really see why they would’ve left knott for no reason. Head coach, starting pitcher. Had a good setup unless some deals and promises were made.

From what I know about Hammond and what I’ve heard he’s a great guy. He’ll do a good job at knott. Seems to be passionate about the girls sports there.

And that is what you like to hear because not many are passionate when it comes to girls sports so it is nice to hear when their is a change in coaching staff that it is a positive change for the program.

JR Hammond is one of the finest people anyone could ever know. He has spent many years coaching, primarily basketball. He coached at Sheldon Clark and then Alice Lloyd. Glad seeing him coach again and the girls at Knott Central are very lucky to have him.

As far as Perry Central, if that is true, sad Bobby Ratliff may be getting out of it. He's another great coach.
