The Tomcats traveled to Charleston to hand West Virginia's top ranked team it's first loss.

They were also the 3rd ranked team in WV as well. That was a good win. Did Neel play? I heard at the first of the week he had won his appeal but have not been able to confirm anything.

He played JV. He has not played in a varsity game yet. KHSAA has not ruled on it.

Ashland is definitely not the best team in the state. Not sure what significance that has in this thread?? It was a good win in a tough stretch, that's it. A win against a top team in another state is a good thing, and, depending on which pole you look at, possibly the best team in their state. That's good for the state of basketball, both in Ashland and in Kentucky. That's it. No one said anything about a state championship or remotely implied it. Stay in your lane.

I think Old School is saying that b/c there was a thread posted before the season titled "Can Ashland win state?"

That's probably it. Nonetheless, one ridiculous thread shouldn't imply that every Ashland follower thinks their team is the second coming of the 60's Boston Celtics.

That's correct. Good win for Ashland, though.
