The season 5 finale was on last night, near 2-hour episode.

So, I have a few questions/things to talk about. First question is, anyone else on here watch this show? Second question is, it took 2 years for the final 5-6 episodes of season 5 to even happen, due to the dispute between Kevin Costner and showrunner Taylor Sheridan, obviously couldn't come to a reasonable outcome, so Costner did not return for the final episodes. They ended up writing off his character in the season premiere last month, which I thought was poorly done. Here is my next question, for the last 2 years pretty much read on major news outlets that the final episodes would be just that, the last ones with nothing more after, but the previews after last week's penultimate episode said, "season finale", if it was indeed the final episode of the entire show, shouldn't it say, "series finale?" I've read where there would be a spinoff of this show featuring Rip & Beth, and I'd assume Kayce, others from the bunkhouse etc. that hasn't been verified yet tho.

Now in regard to these "last" episodes, not going to try and play spoilers here for those who haven't watched, but after watching the finale last night, I thought this last part of the season was awful, from the first episode to last night. Like it was lazily written, poorly executed, basically just rushed it all into 5 episodes and you could notice it week after week. The penultimate ep was probably the worst of the entire show.

I really hate it's over, especially with how great of a show it has been, but these last episodes really put a damper on how great it really was. I may be in the minority with this opinion, but I've watched a lot of great shows, there's a few others that I have the same feeling about, Ozark being the same way.

What's everyone's thoughts on this for those who watch? Also try and keep the spoilers to a minimum!

I could not agree more with you STAT. I LOVED Yellowstone from the very first episode of the very first season. It was a delicious combination of Bonanza/The Godfather!!!

And the character creation from Sheridan was brilliant. So was the story line; I had never thought of Columbus as being a slave trader!! The episodes were thought provoking and intelligently written.

I "think" Costner refusing to film the last season really put a damper on where Sheridan was originally going and how he arrived at the end. And I resent Costner for that very much!! IMO a professional should've ended what he began.

Sheridan had to write him out of the script, and he did it quite dramatically. Then the entire season was predicated on how/what/why all this happened. I hated the entire final series, and I also hate to admit that. One of the best shows, IMO, ended on a horrible season. And I lay every bit of the responsibility at Costner's feet.

I loved this show when it first came out.  I couldn't miss a episode.  Then I kinda got tired of watching it.  All the arguing between Beth and Jamie,  really done it in for me.  That was before the year or two delay.

With that being said,  I'm still kinda interested in the show.  I've not watched none of the new episodes but I've been reading up on them. I saw where the season finale was last night.  I too have heard the rumor there might be another season,  or a spin off involving Rip and Beth.

I haven't read about what happened last night yet.  I'm assuming Rip and Beth survived.  Curious if Jamie survived  Smile I can understand why Beth has remained so upset with him. I often wonder what John would've done to Rip, if he found out back then Rip got her pregnant.  Rip might not have been around after that.

Guess I'll read up on the season finale here shortly.  Find out if Jamie made his way to the train station!

I loved Yellowstone for a long time even wanted to get a horse and learn how to ride it. But when that long break took place between seasons and Kevin Costner didn't come back. I haven't even thought about Yellowstone since.
