[Old School Hound]

Many on here, including some Redhound fans, were saying probably 4 regular season losses and a second or third  round exit in the playoffs. Coach Salmons and players had other plans. They are still standing as one of the Final Four 4A teams and possibly one of the top 10  teams in all of KY. Quite a job by Salmons, who had only a few short weeks to get his team prepared to play football this season. The kids love this coach and will literally run through a brick wall for him.

Corbin is lead by their gunslinger, Kaden the Kid. He is a shortstop by day but moonlights as a pretty good quarterback. A D-1 baseball signee who has received multiple D-1 offers to play football, the Kid is a stud. Can he lead the Hounds to their first title in 42 years?  If so, he becomes a Corbin legend.    This Friday will go a long way in determining that.  Kid Kade better get used to hearing it...."There goes a well known gun. "

The kids played like champions last Friday. They put themselves in the driver's seat to make history and end a 42 year drought. Drive it home, boys!!!

Coach Salmons has challenged his guys to win the physicality battle. They've responded. Some of the hardest licks I've seen delivered in years were delivered last week, as the Hounds laid the wood to the Tomcats. The Hounds played very, very tough , hard-nosed football. They'll need to continue that type of physicality.  I say they'll be tuff enuff...

One of the fastest kids in 4A.  Lightning quick...sub 4.5/40 , versatile, DB , WR , return specialist . The kid's a playmaker.  He's received multiple D-1 offers. Scouts love his speed and hands in the defensive backfield.

Always loved that song. I can remember as a 9-yearold kid playing pinball at the Krystal Kitchen downtown and hearing this song everyday on the jukebox.  I have a new found love for West Virginia.  Thank you, Mountaineer State. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

There's just something about this team that's different. They have that championship look, the confidence, the swagger,  an Old School feel,  physical and mental toughness, a throwback to vintage Redhound squads. A team of destiny...? That is an overused cliche but the Universe does seem to be allowing things to fall into place. Some special seems to be happening. You can feel it in the air around Campbell Field(where I am right now).  There's just something about this group of guys. Are the planets and stars aligning just right for the first time in 42 years???

The change from Greer to Salmons has been such a welcome change... a very cool change. The culture around the program(at least the kids and coaches) is no longer chaotic but just...COOL.... Such a cool change...
