Johnson Central 67 Greenup County 42
#1
Final.
#2
That Johnson Central defense... MAN!!! Just for S& G, I'd like to see another Corbin JC arcade game, this time at Campbell Field.
#3
Shocked that JC gave up 42 points.
#4
Put in 2nd string after the half. Was alot of the reason why the score ended up been what it was. And some awful calls by the refs

Me at QB, you at receiver,  could put up 500 yds and 42 pts against their D.  Good thing they have a potent running attack.

JC has given up a lot of points this year to the better teams on their schedule. Going to be interesting next week.

It will be very interesting next week. How can you give up 42 points to Greenup and expect to stop Ashland next week? Next week is starting to look very good for the Tomcats!

You stop McCort and you stop JC. It’s that simple. Without him their offense is average at best.

Johnson Central is on pace to shatter the state record for average rushing yardage per game for a single season. Each of Johnson Central's running backs averaged over 20 yards per carry against Greenup County.

In last season's game with Ashland, McCoart was out and Logan Music did not play in the first half. Ashland still gave up 33 points to Johnson Central in a loss.

Anybody who thinks McCoart is all the offense Johnson Central has is just not paying attention. Johnson Central's offense is much better than last season. Music, Morrow, and Barnes are all back from the backfield that beat Ashland last season, and McCoart is healthy and is looking better each week. He will pass 2,000 yards rushing for the season early in next week's game against Ashland.

Johnson Central does what they do on offense as well as any team I've seen. They run that ground attack to perfection, and have for years. It's impressive.

Awww, The PRIDEFUL one speaketh out of his hind end once again. Same old rhetoric we hear from you year after year after year.. The end result is always JC whipping ASH-land like they were playing Verity. Which cant beat JC's Middle school either..Hey, and by the way,  what ever happened to NOTsoBADcat anyways?  You've looked stupid for the last 20 years but you just coming back for more , running that mouth. You clowns just never learn.

It will be tough to contend playing defense like that. But JC's offense is clearly first rate.

lol, couldn’t be further from the truth. Hardly any fans up here ever think they’re going to beat Central. The average fan never gets on a forum and discusses football. They just don’t. The few that do are definitely not representative of the masses. This fan loves old school football and I love watching Central. I was surprised that Greenup moved the ball like they did (not just against subs as one genius implied on here). But it means nothing. Individual battles on the line of scrimmage still wins football games. Ashland is undersized and overmatched on both sides of the football. Again, to imply that the Ashland fan base always thinks they’re going to beat Central is comical.

A ton of points scored in this one! Congrats to JC on the win

Johnson Central recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and then McCoart scored on the first play from scrimmage. I believe that Greenup County had 16 points when the clock began running.

JC then put in their reserves but GC left Tyler Sammons in the game and he threw a couple of long touchdown passes and recovered an on side kick, So JC put their starters back in. The game's outcome was never in doubt and the winning margin could have been much worse.

Let's hear it for the JC Oline.  I see a lot of backfield names mentioned.  Your point is well taken that JC is more than just McCoart and I wholeheartedly agree.  But that usually means the front 5 (or 7) are really good !!

That is true. Each week, Coach Peck and his staff score the performance of Johnson Central's offensive and defensive linemen and award an Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Week. They do so because their offensive backfield already gets a lot of recognition for their success. Coach Peck was a lineman himself and he works as hard as anybody to give Johnson Central's line the credit that they deserve. The job that Coach Peck and his staff are doing is very underrated, IMO. The improvement of the offensive line this season may be as big a key to the team's explosive running attack as McCoart's return.

Sophomore quarterback Austin Slone also does not get the credit that he deserves, which is just a fact of life for Johnson Central's quarterbacks. Johnson Central's offense depends on having and athletic quarterback who makes good, quick decisions running the option. I expect that Slone will probably pass more during the next two seasons, but he is never going to pass enough to have the statistics that most people associate with great quarterbacks.

Smile I would have to say this season for Johnson Central fans has been a very entertaining one. Seeing the scoreboards light up with that offense is unreal. Congratulations!! Also seen where a possibility of Corbin/JC Round again.  Woah Woah
