Shelby Valley vs Perry County Central. Thoughts?
#2
Perry wins this one easily
#3
I'm saying Perry 3 td's
Shelby still could put up some points tho

Perry will be able to run the ball at will, but Shelby Valley will score.
The things the Commodores struggle with defensively are the things Valley likes to do.
As long as Perry takes care of the football they should win by 2-3 scores.
Clean up a few things defensively and they could have a big night.

No one can doubt Shelby Valley's strength of schedule. The Wildcats are likely going to be 0-6 going into district play. That's brutal for any teams morale and confidence.

Commodores win, 48-22.

This is the result of Shelby Valley's schedule being beefed up while Russ Osborne was the QB, in order to prepare them for playoff games.  The problem is that with the 2-year scheduling cycle, the same teams that you played in the first year of the cycle (which was Osborne's senior year), are the same teams you play the next year (when that stacked senior class is gone).

Valley's coaches need to soften that schedule considerably when planning for the next couple years.  Starting out 0-6 isn't doing anyone any favors.

As for the game, this SV team is nowhere near as good as last year, and even that team couldn't beat Perry.  Expect this game to get ugly.

Perry by 3-4 TD's.

I smell a upset brewing! valley has been given no chance to win this game, just like Perry was given vs Lawrence and Breathitt . Shelby valley has over 1000 passing yards already this season and Perry’s Deb’s don’t do well against the pass in my opinion.

He's more concerned with crushing the excitement the kids of PBurg have.

I would love to see SV win this game, but it ain't happening.  Could the Wildcats put up 27 points?  They might.  Like you said, they've got over 1000 yards through the air (avg 268 yds/gm) and over 600 yards rushing (avg 154 yds/gm).  They're averaging 23 points/game, which isn't great, but it also isn't terrible considering the schedule they've played. Offense hasn't been the major issue this year.

The problem, like it was last year (and most years), is defense.  SV is giving up 44 points/game, and every opponent has scored at least 40.  Considering Perry put up 58 on Valley last year, I don't see how you figure the Cats will magically hold them to 24 this time.

I'll say this one ends up 48-20 Perry.
