The right thing is to not give in to cowards like this creep. Do we shut down the interstate until he is captured? Close all schools until he's apprehended?  Close all businesses in and around where he could be hiding out? You don't want to close schools for a worldwide pandemic that affected more than 110,000,000 Americans and killed more than a million  but one 32 y.o. creep who's hiding under a brush somewhere and you want to close schools and cancel sporting events. Only weirdos like you and your buddy, JDV, would ever think like that.

I love kids. They don't need to lose valuable time learning in school.  They want to go to school and they want to play ball. They should be doing both.
