Well said... and three or four does not make up an "Entire Class" or "Majority."
History has shown that junior high athletes find it difficult to make the move to the varsity level, for whatever reason.

Quote:Or should we keep whining about the ones who didnt? If these kids dont have enough guts to come out and put in the work essetial to be a good player and to make his team better you have to ask yourself this? Would you really want the ball in THEIR hands in the 4th quater with the game on the line?
It would be very hard to put the ball in their hands in the 4 quarter if they are not playing (actually I think you meant quarter).

There is no doubt Pikeville can win without them. They won quite a few games last year. But Pikeville will not go far in the the playoffs. It is time for a coaching change.

Not the way Hillard thought/thinks.
Maybe that is why he has a couple of state championships. (And before a couple of you tell me to cut my mullet and get out of the 80's the best I remember that is when Pikeville was at its best).

Charles Mimms
If CM continues to work hard in the off season, he will be a huge asset for this team.
I forgot about Mims because I wasn't sure if he was going to be able to play or not because of his back. He will definitely be a help if he is healthy enough to play.

Those three kids could be studs in football as opposed to be just average in basketball. Granted they are all three very good athletes. Wes Rowe has the makings to be an all-state caliber tight end/linebacker type. Clarky keene is the type of kid you wished you had 50 of. He always goes hard and has fun doing it. Very smart and instictual player. Stephen Layne is a very athletic kid who could play corner/safety/quarterback/wide receiver. This versatility makes him a lethal weapon if he were to play. All three could be real special and I hope to see them out this year.

Nice point but Hillard is not the coach at Pikeville anymore. He is a great coach and will always hold a special place in my heart but he does not coach at pikeville anymore and I doubt he ever will again.
P.S. you mullet is way longer than mine is. LOL!

It could be that Pikeville High School may hire you. :lmao:

He may as well be working for free as much as he is around. Pikeville would be pleased to have him and his passion for this school on the sidelines.

If 3 freshmen didnt show up to the first day of practice youd tell the kids that since the "Majority of the team isnt playing" your going to forfeit all the games and suspend the program. LOL!!!! Just Kiddin.

They would all quit when I made them wear their Chuck Taylor canvas shoes.

Who ever the new coach is will have his work cut out. It is hard to overcome 3 years of damaging leadership. We certainly don't need anyone cut from the same mold. Pikeville will recover if it doesn't repeat the mistake. Go Panthers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
