I don’t keep up with the basketball program as closely as football. Went and watched some games at the school boy but that’s it. He wouldn’t have made them a region contender but they were much better with him. But you’re right and unfortunately the people who have the ability to change it could care less. No disrespect to Phelps but there should be 0 sports that they should beat Belfry in. Hearing baseball will be as bad as basketball

They need a fresh person with no kids agenda to push. Both Woolums JB and Cayden left the team. Baseball will be worse. Get ready for some more exits from Belfry at end of year in multiple sports.

My son graduated from the school so I have no personal connections anymore to the school but I’d like to see the program get back on track. All sports that is. But I still haven’t seen someone directly come out and state the issue. Is it the principal? Entire administration? Coach? Honestly I’m not sure if the baseball program will have 10 players this season.

Blame the entire administration the principal, athletic director, Haywood and so on. It’s not just boys basketball either it’s every sport at Belfry. The ship will continue to sink as long as they continue running things. Nepotism has ruined Belfry. Don’t worry though they will hire another unproven coach. Also kids will continue to leave, coaches do not care about the kids. It’s been like that for years

When is the last time phelps beat belfry in basketball?

2019-2020 season. Phelps won the district. They beat Belfry 3 times that season and Pike Central twice. That was a pretty good Phelps team.

Unproven was a nicer way of saying it. Look at Thompson’s losing record while head coach at Pike Central then he gets the  head coaching job at Belfry.
That place has became a crap show. The administration has failed the students and athletes of the school. Allowing coaches to use their power to fool around with students and nothing be done. Is that why a couple of them is retiring this year? The place needs cleaned out and investigated

When Parsley was basically told to kick rocks when he showed interests shows they could care less. Look what he’s done with Prestonsburg. They were awful and just won 5 games the year before he got there. They won 14 his first season and is on pace to win 20 this season. Have beaten Floyd Central and Paintsville and played Pikeville competitively in the All A. If you think basketball is bad wait until baseball. They will be awful.

Mountain athletics are better when Belfry is good in all sports. Pikeville, JC, Paintsville, and Belfry should be everyone’s boogie man in every sport.

2 more double digit losses first Pike Central then Berea who they had beat at home earlier. Kids have to be disheartened knowing coaches don’t have knowledge/ability to do any better. I can’t see much of anything turning this around
