Martin Co. 20 Hazard 7. Final
#1
Cards control the game from the first whistle.
A lot to clean up on offense but they look like they could make some noise this season.
#2
Well congratulations to Martin county
#3
Cards dominated this one from the first whistle to the last. The score doesn't show how dominating it really was.
#4
Congratulations!!!

Make some noise in what way? Hazard is a mediocre Class A program in E Ky.

They  are the number 3 ranked team in single A to start the season.

This may be true. And UK is perennially ranked high in bball….preseason.

What’s going on up in Hazard? Heard they haven’t looked good at all in scrimmages and now this.

Easy buddy. No one is calling for a state championship.  Looking at Martin co schedule they have a legit chance to go undefeated this year. That would be huge for this program. A deep run post season wouldn’t be out of the question.

Solid team win tonight for the Cards. It is always good to start the season off with a win and to do it Vs a quality opponent is even better. Hazard has some dudes on their team and will be tough come playoff time. Their schedule is a gauntlet but they dont quit so it will only make them better. I thought Martin county should have blowed it open in the second half but the bulldogs showed a lot of fight and don’t care a bit to get downhill and hit. Great game tonight at THE ROCK.

hazard was pathetic in the scrimmage i watched. Had 3 first downs in three quarters. I wouldn’t be celebrating just yet thinking undefeated season. The rankings for this team is ridiculous and they are going off of last year but they lost 4 of 5 lineman, and all the production in the backfield and on the edge. Hazard may win 4 games.

Sensible post on here finally!!

Hazard with 29 on the roster. Yikes! Could very well be 0-7 going into district game vs Paintsville with Pikeville the week after that.

They dressed 29 kids tonight and looked like they had 4 or 5 others in jerseys not playing for either injury or new players not acclimated yet. They may have a tough season this year but look out for them next few years.

Followed Hazard my whole life being from Pikeville and have no idea what you can be seeing that I'm missing.

Judging by their middle school team I just figured they may struggle this year but bounce back next year and the next few years with a very solid middle school group coming in with what they return.

Congrats to Martin County on the win. Didn’t get to start listening to the game until 2 minutes from halftime. Hazard with WAY too many turnovers to win this game. Two INTs in the red zone. Turnover on downs in the red zone. They are lucky it wasn’t a running clock. But Martin County came in with the older/more experienced team with its 1st and 3rd leading rushers returning, Plus 4 offensive lineman returning. Hazard had 3 o-lineman returning but the starting center Tuesday transferred out. Offense will be breaking in several new kids and will have growing pains early. Defense returned some pieces, the secondary took a hit and the linebackers spots. But glad to see Hazard not quit, fight until the game was over and punch one in for confidence going into next week.

Excited to see Hazard-Paris in a few weeks.

Surprised by this score. What’s up with Hazard?

What is funny, when the Pikeville and Paintsville beat Hazard, they have beaten a good team but when Martin County beats them, Hazard must be really down. Cards just do your talking on the field and ignore the rest.
#22
I usually give MC a hard time about defense but it was spectacular last night. 3 Interceptions, many sacks, and goal line stops. I hope to see that level of play all season.
#23
Congrats to the Cards. Hazard may be down this season. I don't know. They still have a solid program so I think this was a good win.
