I always like to hear what tehy have to say, but i NEVER believe any of it. It is really just blasphemous, because according to the bible, the world has only been around for about 6000 years. But the scientists believe that it has been around for millions of years. And i dont believe that my ancestors are evolved apes.

It's so hard to counter that argument though, because carbon-dating definitely shows the Earth is MUCH older than 6000 years. And I believe evolution does happen. Maybe not so far as species changing to other species but I definitely think our bodies and animals evolve over time. There has always been a battle between science and religion and with so many schools being funded by the government people get their panties in abunch over the gov't funding a school that teaches creationism. I don't think they should teach anything about it in the younger years of high school. If someone wants to teach evolution or creationism I think it should be when the kids are older and can make up their own minds.

evolution should def. be taught in school..its a scientific theory that is based on some good facts....religion should not even be considered teaching...

Let both sides be tought.
If it were not for religion we would not have our nation.
It was built on freedom of religion and of choice

What I don't understand about carbon dating is how can anyone know for sure that a rock is older than whatever. I mean just because a chemical turns a different color or whatever happens, how come someone know for sure that they are right.
Someone said something about the Bible saying the Earth has only been here for about 6000 years.. Well if I'm not mistaken that's since adam was put here..
The Bible says that 1000 years is as a day, and a Day as a 1000 years. I paraphrased a little bit there but hopefully ya understand.. So no one really knows for sure how long the earth has been here.
As far as teaching evolution, well IMO they shouldn't teach it as what actually happened.. They should teach it as a theory. Doing anything else would be like trying to teach religion in school. Cause religion is based on faith, and since no one can actually prove that the evolution of man started with a single cell from who knows what, then technically that is based of the faith of Darwin being correct. So to teach it would be contradictory to saying they can't teach religion in schools

Who? New Testament or Old? How does doing that make you feel? Interesting explanation. I am a .

CTD, I agree completely, If you do the math, about the 1000 years being one day, It roughly comes out the same as how old the earth actually is i think. Evolution is not exactly being created from monkeys, it is organisms changing to better suit their enviorment. i think It does happen. Look at the human race, Eskimos or Inuits are generally pale, Short and have more body fat--this is becasue they live it a cold area. People from Africa on the other hand, Are generally tall and very dark (black) this is becasue they live in a hot area with lots of sun. I think both should be taught. Anyone agree with me?

Humans adapt over time. As does any other organism. They have to, to survive. But everything coming from a cingle cell or whatever kind of blows my mind. Cause if it was a single cell then how come there are so many different organisms?

What if Robots adapt over time.

i agree CTD...let evolution be taught as a theory, and if they wanna teach religion in school, than let that be taught as a theory as well

I think teaching evolution in schools is just as morally correct as teaching creationism. I think all theories should be taught, and not one emphasized over another.

I think that both aspects should be taught and maybe even debating within the classroom. Younger kids should not be forced to hear this, only junior or senior classes. I think that the Earth is older than what the Bible says and stuff too. I do not think however that a teacher should voice their opinions or more so try to persuade students to see the creation of man the way that they believe. That is why the government and school systems get into trouble, it is because of a teacher forcing a view upon his or her students. I for one do not know how we got here and personally it really doesn't matter. All that matters is that we are here and we are basically healthy and stuff.
