Betsy Layne 59 Floyd Central 37 (58th District)
#1
Final from Floyd Central. Floyd Central was without #14 who was on the bench but noticed they were without #3 who hit like 6-7 3’s against us the last time we played them. #3 wasn’t on the bench for the Jags though. Not sure why he wasn’t there

Betsy Layne was up 43-9 at halftime. Wasn’t much of a game

Heard some people talking after the game, is this the last game for FC coach?

Floyd Central couldn't have had a worse first half. Connor Hopkins was the only player that could beat the press, but they couldn't get anything to fall on offense and took a lot of selfish shots. At one point FC had a 3 on 1 break and instead of dishing it to the open teammate near the basket, the FC guard pulled up for a jump shot that they missed and BL got the rebound. That one possession really summed up the night for Floyd Central.

Betsy Layne was dominate on both ends. They were bigger, stronger and faster than FC. Physically FC didn't matchup at all with the Bobcats and they couldn't stop Frazier or really anyone else in a white uniform.

Friday nights district championship game with Lawrence County should be a dandy.

Floyd Central having 3 starters in Rainey, Burke and Moore out really hurt them. BL was the better team regardless but it may have been closer.

I think we have seen the last of Coach Moore at FC. They started the season with a good record and the fans were excited. They forgot to mention it was one of the weakest schedule in the Region. I guess hoping for a winning season would save his job. Beating up the weak teams does nothing for your talent and hurts their development. Should have been playing those 8th graders from DACE and building toward the future. Those holdback sophomore thanks to COVID and should be juniors haven’t produce anything. Making other happy instead of trying to develop a team that can compete for district and region seem to take precedent. Now it looks like the majority of the talented 8th graders at DACE will go elsewhere instead of FC because they aren’t gonna want to play behind the kids there now when they are better players. A lot of things could have been different. No excuse for Floyd central to have this bad of team. South Floyd and AC always produce winning teams. Hasn’t been that way since the merger it seems. So something has to change.
