Josh Pace, 6'5" swingman who played for the 2003 NCAA National Champion Syracuse Orangemen, became the Miners first signee today. Pace is New Zealand's reigning "player of the year" after spending this past season with the Nelson Giants of New Zealand's National Basketball League. Pace averaged 10.8 points during his senior season at 'cuse and played behind Carmelo Anthony as a sophomore...

Any word if Woo is going to be up at the Expo?
10-11-2007, 12:13 AM
Woo was signed by the Pacers so I'm not sure if he will be playing in Pikeville any this year...

I knew he had signed, but didn't think they made the final cuts yet since they just started the Pre-Season today or yesterday.

Ahh yes, your right. I hope he gets cut...I would LOVE to see him at the Expo...does anyone know if Brandon Stockton will be playing for the Miners? I know he was at the try-outs but i dont know for sure if he will be playing for them. He played pretty good when he got playing time at UK and I think he would be a great player for the Miners.

ALSO...Woo signed with the Pacers so he will NOT be with the Miners even if cut by the Pacers...
Who really thinks he would be a positive for ANY team???
All we have heard the past two years is how horrible he is and Now everyone thinks he would be a great addition to the Miners???

He was horrible, but it would be nice to see a former Cat staying in Kentucky to be a part of a team at the next level whether or not he gets any playing time. A lot of people would show up just to see him because he was a Wildcat. I met Shagari at the Fayette Mall and was kinda blown away, got my picture taken with him, not because I thought he was a great player, just because he was a member of the Bball team and I am a huge fan of UK athletics.

Actually FS, if he gets cut by the Pacers, the Miners have the rights to Woo. He could be in Pikeville...

Absolutely correct...
Officials with the Miners told me today that they still control the rights to Woo and if he ever plays in the CBA, he must play with the Miners first. Apparently, many CBA teams drafted guys who went in the NBA's first and second rounds to just reserve their rights vs. other teams in the CBA.
