Blackcats travel to Stanton to face the Pirates of Powell County.
Prestonsburg won this game last year by a touchdown and the Blackcats basically return their entire roster. This will also be year 3 for coach Brandon Brewer, who used to be the head man at Powell County. The Pirates lost a few of their overall production from last season, but do return their quarterback.
Hope to see a much more physical and confident Prestonsburg team this season that can start putting some wins together.

New coach at Powell. Lost a lot of production. Prestonsburg returns a ton of their starters. Year 3 of coach Brewer's system. Blackcats win.

Prestonsburg has to show more physicality in the trenches this season, and I believe they will control the LOS in this one.
Blackcats by 2 TDs seems like the right way to lean at this moment, but I could see a scenario where this game is tied up within the final 3-5 minutes as well.
I hope everyone comes away healthy from this one!

This will be interesting to see, I think that Powell just has too much against them to win though. A new offense which they’ve had to learn in what a month maybe? I just don’t at this moment think that they can win. Prestonsburg 24 16

Can’t wait to see how the Pirates do under Coach Jones. I’m sure the Pirates will have a lot of kinks to work out during this game as Coach Jones sees them in action and big spots to fill. I do like knowing Powell has about the best Kicker in the state, that could help. I’m hoping for an injury free game for both teams. I’m predicting 21-14 either team winning.
