It was close game at the half, Leslie led as much as 10. They are young and let it slip away from them. But they are a contender, Top Ten scoring offense. And lead the state in rebounding.

Maggard is definitely one to watch can handle the ball and shoot the 3 Knott has some very good freshman. There are a lot of good young players in this region. Perry and Buckhorn are both loaded with young players.

Congratulations to Knott county. Knott brings energy to the floor. If they rebound, they will hurt you because every kid can put the ball on the floor and in the basket. I think their young players (Fletcher - 9th grade, Gayheart - 8th grade, and Maggard - 9th grade) are the best three players I have seen come through in a while. Fletcher's motor is fun to watch on both ends of the floor. Gayheart is a very crafty guard that can score and defend, and Maggard is a great shooter. When you add Mullin's experience and scoring ability and Slone's ability to defend to this group, then you have a very dangerous team. I know Leslie, Perry, and a few other teams have some good young talent, but this group leads the way.

Knott county came out and defended Leslie very well. Congrats to the Lady Patriots and Coach Honeycutt. We are pulling for you in Richmond.

Another good coaching job by Coach Honeycutt. A lot of people counted the Patriots out for this year, including myself, and thought they were a year or two away of competing at the top in the 14th. I personally had Hazard winning the All A but the Eagles played great and eliminated them. Congrats to the Patriots and best of luck in Richmond.
