Thoughts and predictions :Cheerlead

4A Lexington Catholic 3-1
2A Lexington Christian 3-1

An athletic secondary nullifies LexCath. Does LCA have enough?

No

LexCath - 35
LCA - 20
#3
Both of these teams have surprised me this year, but I've gotta go with Lex. Cath in this one.

Lex. Cath 42
LCA 28
#4
This ones gonna be a barn burner. Both teams are high powered but Beau cant do it all himself. If LCA can slow him down in the slightest i think that will turn the game around. With that being said ill take LCA in a close one.
LCA - 35
Lex Cath- 31

Lex.Cath. 42
LCA 35

I don’t see LCA competing in this one. Just looking at how the two have played and who they have played thus far.

You dont think the game against Belfry for LCA, and how good they played against the Pirates, is enough for you to think that they won't at least be competitive against Lex.Cath.? Belfry is a top team in 3A, if not the top team. The score was 26-20 going into the 4th Qtr with the final score being 39-20. Doesn't Belfry fall under your "who they have played thus far" category for LCA? Unless your very low on the Pirates, I'd say LCA can be very competitive against Lex.Cath.

No offense but it was a 19 point loss vs Belfry. A ground oriented team.

Lex Cath lost a game they should have won at Cov Cath. A one point loss in a game they led almost the entire time.

Now this isn’t a slam but that is a LOT more impressive than a 19 point loss At Pikeville.

Add in Desales to the list and I think you get my point about schedules.

While we are at it, add in Beau Allen.

LCA has some athletes that can cause some problems for LexCath but not enough to win.

If you have a balanced attack, put a little pressure on Allen and an athletic secondary you can beat the Knights.
#10
Would like to see LCA do well, but this is Strength vs. Strength and Weakness vs. Weakness.

Both teams have the same strengths and the same weaknesses. LexCath just seems to have a little more overall talent, skill, and depth.

I will say LexCath 36-14.

LCA's best chances for victory is if Smith can get lose. If Beau Allen is the best player in this game Dearious Smith is probably #2.

Don’t forget about Xavier Brown for LCA. There is a clear difference in the amount of an athletic advantage LCA has. As long as we capitalize on that with a good defensive gameplan this should be the game of the year.

So let me get this straight.

LCA is 3-1 coming into the game. A loss to a very good Belfry team. A win vs an Ohio team that I assume is good. 2 wins vs 2 teams that are 1-7 together.

LC is 3-1. A 1 point loss to Cov Cath away after leading almost the entire game. They beat a DeSales Team whose 2 losses are to St. Xavier and Lex Cath. And they beat a 3-1 Pulaski in their opener. I can't tell you about the Indiana team.

So if you were looking at performance so far, how do you rate the matchup?

I think one thing we all get carried away with at times is the views of teams year-to-year. I don't have much of an idea on CovCath, DeSales or LCA on what they lost from last season. That makes it hard to project how good a team may be even if they have a great reputation as a program.

Well Cov Cath has the #1 Recruit in the State still on their team. Maybe that gives some indication. The Colonels also have 23 Seniors on the roster for what that might be worth.

No offense taken my friend. I never said I thought LCA would win, I dont think they will, I just think they will be competitive.

I watched some of the LexCath game and was unimpressed with their ability to cover their receivers.

Having the #1 recruit in the state doesn't give any indication of the ability the rest of the team has to cover receivers.

I don't think that's to far off at all ol buddy. My prediction wasn't that high of a score but it was pretty high. I look for a high scoring game as well with Lex.Cath. getting the W.

This is going to be a good game. LCA brings a ton of speed and athleticism to the field along with a very good secondary. Obviously LC brings in a top QB and a good receiving core. Game will be won in the trenches and on turnovers. Emotions will be high but I give the edge to the Eagles in a close one.
#20
I think the long bus ride for Lexington Catholic May be to much for them and they will only win by 2 or 3 scores
#21
Lex Cath by 14
#22
I think Beau Allen will be the difference in the game. I'll take Catholic.
