6A Daviess County (3-1) clashes with city rival 5A Owensboro (2-2)

Last year Daviess County broke a 12 game losing streak to the Red Devils with a 33-27 victory. Turnovers were the difference in the game with 1 INT apiece but Owensboro lost 3 fumbles.

This year sets up to be another great game. Owensboro is coming off a tough loss to Bowling Green but a good showing. Daviess County was on cruise control against an inferior Hancock County team before the game was called for weather. Both teams have already played Owensboro Catholic. Daviess County was impressive with a 23 point win in the opening week while Owensboro dropped their matchup by 13 points (to the surprise of many). The past has shown that the battles between the four Owensboro area teams can be very unpredictable, so throw the score comparisons out the window. Both teams have alot of offensive firepower and big playmakers so this game may very well come down to the turnover differential once again.

This is why I've always said Tilghman, Graves Co, Mayfield, and McCracken Co must always play one another no matter the discrepancies.
