Perry Central 10 Estill County 4

This was a good game until the top of the 4th when Perry blew it open plating 7 runs in the inning.

Estill didn't help themselves by any means by leaving the bases loaded in two different innings. Had bases loaded in one inning with 0 out and only got 1 across. Had basses loaded in another inning with two outs and couldn't get anything across.

Estill will be just fine, they threw 2 freshmen at PCC and started a total of 5 for the game. Crazy to me! Estill had a freshman starting at Pitcher, Second, LF, CF and RF. they had their chances, Elam just seemed to get tired and could not get it across the plate, walked 4 straight in the inning where PCC scored their 7 runs. Bright future for the Engineers. This is going to be one fun region tournament next week! 5 or 6 of the 8 can win it all. I can't wait!

There are two teams that can win the 14th Region tournament. Anything else would be a major upset in my opinion.

Must be from Perry County. That's your opinion and you are entitled to that, but that is the attitude that has gotten Perry in trouble the past several years. Keep thinking like that, and Knott (who just beat hazard), Letcher, and Estill (who beat Perry when Cottongame was on the mound) will be thrilled to pull the "Major Upset"

There are obviously the favorites. But that pressure has gotten to teams in the past. I can think of a couple of instances where the "Favorite" went home in the first round, or didn't even make the championship game.

Estill beat Hazard (Fav) in 2012 semi-finals
Powell Beat Hazard (Fav) in 2013 first round
Letcher beat Powell (Fav) in 2011 semi-finals (Powell was 18-0 in region play)

Anything is possible and this season, as with any season, a first or second round upset is bound to happen.

You gotta play the games and if we played them on paper it wouldn't be as fun.

If Perry or Hazard wins, no one will be surprised. If Someone else sneaks up and wins the 14th, a lot of people will be surprised. I think that's a fair assessment.

Ya dang skippy. But I am not on here saying Estill is going to win this region. Do they have a shot? Sure. But so do 5 other teams realistically. I would agree with the statement that Perry and Hazard are the "favorites", but I would not be "surprised" if Knott, Letcher or Estill won it.

Absolutely. Not taking anything away from Perry, they are one heck of a team and if they win this region, it will be deserving for sure! Good luck to you all as well!
