On planet Paul, the government consists of only one man. He writes all the bills, foreign policy is his vision only, and he is the only one who can understand healthcare and health insurance. Owing to the 'for-defense-only' rationale, should any member of the armed services of planet Paul be caught out of country for any reason, it's the gallows for them. And his hill to die on? Denying the world of a much needed and ultimately qualified Secretary of State.
Meanwhile on moon McConnell, should anyone so much as mention the number 51 (as in simple majority), for them it's the firing squad.
Remember the movie Armageddon? My favorite character in that movie was Rockhound. After having landed on the asteroid that was about to destroy the earth, the imminent Rockhound, in a comedy of existential madness said the following; "Guess what guys, it's time to embrace the horror! Look, we got front row tickets to the end of the earth!"
All things considered, it seems that reality has managed to go one-up on Hollywood... because it's the entire earth and all her inhabitants who're streaking helplessly toward infinity's blinding flash.
