NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Junior guard Kerwin Roach II and freshman guard Matt Coleman recorded career-high scoring marks, but Texas Men's Basketball fell to No. 24/25 Nevada in overtime on Friday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament First Round, 87-83.

Roach II finished with 26 points for his 20th double-digit scoring game of the season. He was a career-best 6-of-10 from the three-point line and added five rebounds and two steals in a career-high 45 minutes. Coleman posted 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field, including a career-best 4-of-5 mark from deep for his 16th game scoring in double figures. He also added a team-high four assists and two rebounds in 44 minutes.

Freshman forward Mohamed Bamba recorded his 15th double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 boards along with three blocks in 31 minutes. Junior forward Dylan Osetkowski added 11 rebounds, four assists and seven points. The Longhorns shot a 46 percent clip from beyond the arc (11-of-24). Texas led the points off turnovers battle by a 14-2 margin.

The Horns recorded 10 straight points to build a five-point (10-5) advantage with 16:12 to play in the opening half. UT forced the Wolf Pack into a 3:31 scoring drought as the Longhorns built a 19-10 lead with 11:48 remaining. Nevada answered with a 6-0 run to trim the lead to three (19-16) at the 10:00 mark.

Coleman knocked down back-to-back buckets to stretch the lead to 26-18 with 5:13 remaining in the first half. The Longhorns extended the lead to double digits (35-23) at the 1:16 mark after Roach II and Young hit consecutive threes.

Texas headed to the break with a 35-26 lead. Roach II led the Longhorns with 13 points in the first half, including 3-of-5 shooting from three-point range. Coleman added 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field. Texas shot 54 percent in the opening 20 minutes and knocked down six 3-pointers. UT outrebounded Nevada by a 20-11 margin, and the Longhorn defense held the Wolf Pack to just 3-of-12 (25%) shooting from beyond the arc.

Texas opened the second half with a 5-0 run to build 40-26 advantage with 18:40 to play, forcing a Nevada timeout. The Wolf Pack utilized a 16-6 spurt to trim the UT lead to single digits (46-42) at the 13:27 mark. A pair of free throws from Coleman put Texas on top 56-48 with 8:41 remaining.

Nevada pulled within one (56-55) after recording five straight points, but Coleman answered on the opposite end with a 3-pointer as Texas led 59-55 with 6:19 to play. A Bamba putback at the 1:29 mark gave UT a three-point lead (66-63). Osetkowski connected on two free throws, but a Nevada layup on the next possession with 33 seconds cut the UT lead to 68-67. The Wolf Pack evened the contest on a made free throw with three seconds left, and the Longhorns headed to overtime for the eighth time this season.

Nevada opened a four-point (81-77) lead at the 1:36 mark in the extra period after an 8-0 run. Roach II connected from deep to bring the Longhorns within 85-83 with 15 seconds remaining, but Nevada hit two free throws to close out the scoring and end UT's 2017-18 season. Kendall Stephens paced the Wolf Pack with 22 points.
