#1
At least one person has died in an accident just south of Louisa on U.S. Route 23.
Police tell NewsChannel 3 the driver of an SUV was killed after the vehicle collided with a coal truck.
The large truck overturned, spilling coal onto the highway. Crews say it will take hours to clean up the mess.

There are some pictures and video from the accident scene.

23 is a bad road , I know coal is our gold , but they need to drive with respect. Sorry to hear about lives lost.

Thoughts and prayers go out to any and all involved. 23 is the most dangerous road in Kentucky and probably one of the most dangerous in the States. Coal trucks drive like they own the roads and other drivers are too fast. I really hate to hear this.

The man driving the truck is a very good man who goes by the nickname Ironman. He is a very dedicated christian.According to the paper the man lost control of his truck and crossed the median and struck Ironmans coaltruck in the side causing him to turnover. My prayers go out to the family of the man killed.

That is a really bad road for accidents, especially with all the coal trucks that travel on that road. My dad drives a truck on that stretch of road everyday and every time i hear about a wreck on that road i worry it might be him. I have traveled that way many times and notice that most of the truck drivers do think they own the road and show little respect for anyone else. But its not just that road, they are like that everywhere. Now im not saying its all the drivers, just some or most of them. My dad has been driving a truck for about 30 years of his entire life and I have never known him to be that type of driver, but then again Im never with him so i dont really know.
