Do you have a link to see entire region?

Hazard strength of schedule was really high first half of season.

I'm a huge Dawg fan, but I would be the first one to say that I think the ratings are off some. First of all, until we prove ourselves against Leslie, then we aren't number 1. Second of all, we haven't played Knott or Perry yet. Thirdly, nobody better overlook Owsley.
Some of this may sort itself out in the all a classic, but as of today, it's up for grabs.

I agree, you can throw ratings out the window. Leslie, PCC, Hazard, and KCC are all fairly close. Owsley is extremely good as well. Gibson is easily the best player in the region.

You would think they would want to change from using this ranking system, it really only benefits the bottom tier teams. Am I wrong but is 54th only district that uses this type of system for seeding in district tourney?

Letcher beat Leslie, @ Leslie, and many people putting them at 9th? Maggard will be hard to stop.

The 54th has got to change our seeding system. It is time to fix it. Let the teams decide who is the best by playing each other. That will take all the bull crap guessing and opinions out of it. I'm a Hazard fan and have been for many years, but everybody knows that we can't be ranked number 1. Perry doesn't want to play any body in the district. They could go 15 and 15 and still get the top seed.
01-17-2018, 07:32 AM
i agree that they should play each other but they wont. this rating goesw by a lot more than head to head, strength of schedule which hazard has the toughest schedule. perry don't usually play tough teams so they can be #1.

I find these rankings a little hard to believe. First, Perry plays a lot out of the region because there is tougher competition outside the 14th. The way I hear it is that we try to schedule Hazard and Leslie every year, but can't seem to find a date open. Leslie is obviously the number two team in the district and I'm just voicing my opinion here, but we'd beat Hazard by 15+ on a neutral court every time we played them. I agree with whoever said (play each other twice a year and let the teams decide who should be #1 and #4.)

I know for a fact that the hazard coach said that he would play perry anytime and anywhere but randy wouldn't. and by their schedule hazard plays a lot tougher teams outside the region than perry. Pikeville beat perry and Pikeville got 7th in the clell miller tournament. and have you seen perrys schedule over the last few years, not tough at all so they can be seeded number 1. perry lost by 29 the other day, hazards worst lost of the year was by 21 to a scott county team who is top 10 in the state easy

Pikeville lost to Eastern in the Hazard Tourney first game. If you think Pikeville was the 7 th best team in that tourney then you are kidding yourself. Who beat Eastern? Nobody...
01-18-2018, 09:23 PM
Pikeville also lost to Skyline who Knott beat by 38 the previous day.

I don't think I said that they were the 7th best team I think I said that they got 7th place which they did. and the only game they won was against breathitt

one more thing, I would bet any amount of money that hazard wanted to play perry and perry wounldnt. so I don't know where people get their miss information but they get it somewhere. and believe me if coach napier thought he could beat hazard by 15+ then he would have scheduled them.
hazard wins by 17 on the road at knox and perry loses 2 games by almost 20 points each and perry moves closer in the ratings. how is that possible?

Randy Napier is like 200-5 vs Hazard. I doubt he is very scared. Half the girls on Hazards team has played at him at some point in time. Probably doesnt want all the drama. Im sure both will get a shot at each other when it matters most.

If you play tougher opponents and stay close and lose, it's better than beating a lower team by 20. That is why Perry got closer to Hazard.

I say by Feb5th it will not matter but I dont see Perry losing another regular season game Hazard maybe 1 or 2 and Leslie maybe 1 or 2. But it really dont matter because these 3 are all about even. Knott losing to Lee is a little concerning. My prediction is the two teams out of the 54th will be the ones to beat at Estill County

I don't care who u are if u lose 2 games by about 20 points each you shouldn't move higher in the ratings. that's crazy

If Perry isn't the winner of the 14th this year, I think it could also be Lee County. They beat 3 of the top 4 teams, previously listed, in the All A.
