Sounds like they have an offense that isn't quite highlighting their talent's strengths. There are only one or two teams that can consistently run that style and be affective. That is because they have The personnel do so. It is very easy to run multiple passing schemes out of the belly and the veer. However, you have to have the personnel to it. They may have the personnel and just had a bad game. I've just seen a lot of teams have bad years because their offensive scheme wasn't allowing them to get in the open field and show their athleticism.
