Better watch calling this a "game" KHSAA rules say that you can not play a "game" until the 14th.

Not sure of the rules and I didn't attend I was at the high school picking my daughter up from basketball practice and watched the closing minutes and was told it was the first game of the year, I do know that Middle school always starts a week or two before high school.
