Middlesboro Open.....Again in 2017
#1
Lost a good math teacher, jury is still out , for me, on how good a coach he is

It just keeps falling in a tail spin. Main thing good teachers leaving. Any who....

Who will apply?
#2
Lost a good math teacher?.......hmmmm Seems like you may be talking to the wrong people. I heard last year he was having cup stacking competitions in his classroom for the entire length of the class. No joke.
#3
I'm betting Tim Millett throws his name in the hat. I would also expect Stuart Miller, Scott Overbay, and Nick Napier to all apply as well. Not sure of the out of town folk.
#4
Hearing that they are going hard after Lewis Morris from Bell County!!!!!!!!!
#5
I'm not sure why he would leave Bell County and then turn around and take that job if he is in fact, trying to have more time to watch his daughter play. If they managed to pull it off, it would be a near best case scenario for them I would think.
#6
Lewis Morris has applied, if they can't pull it off, Middlesboro, will again keep their head up their butt.

12 job openings again in this system? This place has a big problem. This staff has a turn over of about half every 2-3 years. Why?
#7
Simple..This administration may be the worst in school history.

You don't really know what happened. Coach Morris doesn't put up with parents and administration in his program. He will tell them to kiss his tail and move on. I do think he would be making a huge mistake to go to Mboro. Even if he wants to coach, he would be better off coaching rec league as to go there.

When he was hired, you stated great hire and coach, now he is gone...he is a cup stacker? How soon they turn. LOL

When he was hired, all signs pointed to it being a great hire. He taught a high need area and had a great basketball pedigree. In reality, things didn't go as hoped...see Algebra II test scores and basketball record for last 2 years. I wish him the best of luck in Corbin though.

Coach Morris applying at Middlesboro really does surprise me though.

He has applied and it was confirmed. Interviews next week and a hire by the end of the week. We will see if the administration can get it right, he is by far the BEST to apply for the job. Still say he is crazy to want to go there.

Nick Napier not Lewis
#13
Oh My!! One of the best coaches in SEKY on the coaching list of applicants at one of the worst schools in SEKY.

Some may think this is a slap in the face of Bell.....Others may think it is a slap in the face of Lewis Morris, as Coach Hilton flexes his muscles at Bell.

I would guess he could coach at Middlesboro and still have time to watch his daughter play. As good a coach as he is, the Jackets at slow, weak and can't shoot, and no concept of defense.....It is clear he will have plenty of time to watch one of the best girls basketball player ever to come out of SEKY

One thing going against Lewis in this system, he is not a, "yes man" that Martin has to surround himself with. Make no mistake Martin will hire. Principal and a few others have removed themselves from committee. Reason....Martin. So if Morris is not the guy, I can promise you this is why. I will say it again, Morris is hands down the VERY BEST applicant for this job.
#15
I agree with you on Morris. He is a great coach, but will surprise me if he gets it or even wants it.
#16
Say Lewis Morris doesn't get the job, Then who would be next in line?
#17
Lewis Morris is a great coach and Middlesboro would be foolish not to hire him if he is interested!
#18
Have you ever really paid attention to Middlesboro and who Martin hires? Under foolish decisions in the dictionary you will find his name and picture.

Just let me add also, just out from his would be Gilliam and Gambrel. If it were a Bell thread , I would have said the same. This county is in dire need of leadership.
#21
The worse leadership in the two school district history. We hired her back for the second time!
Our old board members were Sp..!
We have two that are educated men and have a clue, but our new one only time will tell. We have the only Superintendent in the state that doesn't show up to work till 10:00.. Our board should correct this issue! Joke
#22
Any news out of the Boro yet?
#23
Expect a hire by Friday or next Monday. Not much being said. Never know with this bunch.
#24
Hearing an announcement of the new head coach is scheduled for Tuesday. Looks to be Morris.

Well so all signs are pointing to who
#27
Don't keep us in suspense.
#28
Lewis Morris has been offered the job, that much I know. Will he take it is the question. I guess we will see soon.
#29
Just saw his press conference online where Coach Morris has accepted the job.
