There are two great matchups tonight. The outcomes of these two games will probably have a major impact on who will be he 2017 Sweet 16 Champion. Rankings are from the final Cantrall Ratings before the district tournaments started.

First, #3 Trinity plays #6 Ballard in a 7th Region semi-final. The winner of the Ballard/Trinity game has gone to the Sweet 16 for the past 6 years. This is the most interesting game in the state tonight by far.

Secondly, #18 Lexington Christian plays #20 Madison Central in an 11th Region semi-final. Lexington Christian is one of the hottest teams in the state. They beat Dunbar in a close one and destroyed Lexington Catholic in their district tournament. This year, this district was the toughest district in Kentucky, with 3 top 20 teams.

Top 25 teams that have been eliminated so far include:

They probably wasn't a top 20 team but another big upset was when Apollo got knocked out in the 3rd region in the first district game.They had defeated Daviess three times during the season but the 4th time got them.
