1. South Laurel - they beat Cov Cath that's impressive
2. Corbin - Taylor is way good
3. Knox Central - Tough schedule gives them the edge
4. Harlan County - i'm not overly impressed
5. North Laurel - they just can't seem to beat top teams
6. Clay County - far better then expected
7. Whitley - could be a second half team
8. Pineville - always better then their talent
9. Lynn Camp - crafty Dinky gets it done
10. Jackson County - had to stick someone there
2. Corbin - Taylor is way good
3. Knox Central - Tough schedule gives them the edge

Cov Cath was missing CJ Fredrick in the loss to South. Also, the officiating was one sided. Neutral floor at full strength, Cov Cath wins that game by 10-15. Knox Central's schedule hasn't been that tough either.

I actually thought the officiating in the SL Cov Cath game was pretty good. I think SL got one, maybe two breaks from the officials, but that's about it.

Here would be my top 8:
1: Knox Central (They have a lot of talent and are playing excellent ball right now.....but I think they are most likely to choke come region time)
2: Harlan County (depending on the draw....has s chance to win it)
3: Corbin (They have the best overall player and coach in the region)
4: North Laurel (On paper they have the talent....Not really a fan of the coaching)
5: South Laurel (They have the guard play to win it....will all depend on the draw) *My pre-season pick to repeat*
6: Clay County (Can't handle pressure and are to inconsistent......Not a fan of the coaching as well
7: Whitley County (They won't make the region)
8: Lynn Camp (No chance....that's what they got)

When you factor in coaching, South drops to three in region!!

5 team race right now. North, South, HC, Knox, and Corbin. It all depends on the draw IMO. Would say Knox is the favorite to win it. But seems like they always have a let down in the region tourney. Don't think the 50th district loser will win it all, rather that's Corbin or South. If HC draws away from Corbin but with Knox, I think they'll go to the finals. If Corbin draws away from Knox I think they'll make it. Think North would wanna draw on Corbin or HC's side away from Knox. Don't think Clay can win it all, but if a district winner sleep walks into their first game think they could pull the upset.
