It is still early in the season and a lot of things can happen between now and state semi's. Injuries can change the dynamic of a team over night. That's why they play the games, to see who will win. Yes I think Belfry is the best team in 3a but I also think Corbin isn't going to just lay down and let the have it without putting up a fight.
At this point I'd take Belfry in any bet.
It may be early in the season but if your not bowling Green, trinity, or male, your not beating Belfry and last time I checked Belfry don't have to worry about them...
Look at what tates creek just did to Henry clay after Belfry put a running clock on tates creek early in the second quarter...
Even the biggest of trolls can't say Belfry won't win. There damn good

Corbin is clearly the second best team in 3A and to be honest the gap to number three is pretty wide. This is a very good Corbin team and one that could put a beating similar to last night on any team they face.
Greenwood proved last week that even the mighty can fall. Graves County is 2014 shocked Bowling Green that should have beat them by 4 TD's+ on any given night. All it takes is one off night, a great gameplan, and the players to lead their team
With that said, I still don't think people are comprehending what this Belfry team is capable of. Tates Creek and Harlan County were literally like Belfry playing Betsy Layne. Tates Creek may be the second best Fayette County team besides Lafayette and Harlan County is a couple plays away from beating both Pulaski County and Knox Central. Let alone the fact Belfry drove 5 hours, got off a bus, and gave NewCath a beating that even their fans tipped their hat to in which the defending 2A Runner-Ups had around 70 total yards against the starting Pirate D. I do think if any 3A team can get them it will be Corbin, but if Belfry brings their A Game and Corbin brings their A Game I take Belfry by 4-5 TD's. To beat Belfry it is going to take darn near perfection from a 3A team and also some breaks or lucky bounces to go their way coupled with Belfry making some mental mistakes.
From what I gather Corbin has the right mindset. Don't worry about the team you are going to see at the end of November. Worry about yourself and perfecting what you do best. I will be utterly shocked if these two teams don't collide and I fully expect when they do for Corbin to give Belfry one heck of a fight... but in the words of Roy D. mercer if you are taking on Belfry "you better pack a lunch"

I think that Lexington Cath could be right there for the #2 spot they have played a tough schedule

Longtime before we need to even think about the Pirates. Really longtime.
Great showing last night. On the next game!!!

No doubt Corbin is a fine team. Danville is a legit 2A contender and Corbin beat them by 3 tds. Yes, Danville had some miscues, but that's part of the game. Corbin had 347 turnovers last year, but Danville still whipped em. Whether you force them, or merely capitalize on them, that's still part of the game.
I love the Hounds more than most, but I'm still not going to put them in Belfry's league. Sure, anything can happen. Take 1996. Corbin was likely the best 2A team in Kentucky along with Breathitt and beat the piss out of Madison Southern at the end of the season. What happened in the playoffs? Madison Southern beat Corbin at Campbell Field
The Belfry/Corbin talk is fun, but there's a whole lot of time between now and then. Corbin passes the first test this past Friday by beating Danville. They still have two more very loseable games in the next two weeks with Southwestern and Mayfield. Not to mention a trip to Knox Central to end the year. One at a time.

Beating Belfry is so far off the radar right now. It's almost unfair to even think about.

Belfry is the best in 3A without a doubt. The hounds will be put down, we don't want them to just lay down.

I watched a little of the Harlan vs Belfry game film. Holy moly. Corbin better enjoy wins like this. They nor anyone else can stop Belfry. I pull for Corbin as they are here in Knox County but Belfry just has one of those teams...

That's what I have been trying to say... I don't think people comprehend what this Belfry team is until they can actually watch them and see how big, fast, and just plain talented they are. They are far from unbeatable and for those thinking they can play with Male and Trinity, I am not sure I will even remotely say that yet, but this is just simply a rare and special team.
Oline= Average around 6'2 300 with 3 players with D-1 offers and majority are multi-year starters
Backfield= Corbett is a very underrated threat at QB and would be a guy that could pass for huge stats elsewhere in a passing system. They have three excellent FB's and rotate about 4 or 5 HB's with big play ability.
DLine= IMHO the best in the State and led by the State's best Defensive Player in Horton.. three four year starters
Secondary= Fast, athletic, and experienced. Varney is a lockdown corner and Catron is a force at Safety.
LB'ers= The only place you can question them because of youth, but Derek Wellman is the best LB in EKY to help take some of the sting off of it

Belfry has to wait for a bit 64. Mayfield gets the next crack as the hounds.
