The kid was an idiot but glad he's not in jail.

This should have never even been tried. It was a fight plain and simple. Huge waste of taxpayers dollars for something that happens everyday in high schools accross America
Glad justice prevailed.

You may want to go back and listen to the testimony of the umpire that was at second base.

It's easy for people whose kid wasn't involved in this ordeal to form an opinion. If it had been their child, who knows what they would be saying. It's easy to say "well if it were my child....", when it wasn't!

I know this is case/trial is public record, BUT I would use caution and discretion before posting on this thread.

It needs to be deleted.....

Why delete it? Last year it was all good and you guys prosecuted him on here! He was found innocent and nothing wrong with that.

I sent you a PM on the matter. I'm done with it as far as it's concerned. And you said you were there....

OJ Simpson was too.

So you think the kid and his family spent 9,000,000 getting him off?
Come on it should have never been charged in a court of law. The case should have been address by PCC & LC for their players behavior and move on.

From what I was told, that same umpire had to change his testimony after the KHSAA report filed by the Umpire in Chief was presented as evidence. Jury voted and found Elkins innocent.

Don't know how much it cost them, just saying that in a jury trial sometimes the facts get ignored. With that being said I don't think jail would have been the best solution in this case, maybe some community service.

NO he should have not gotten anything for the legal system. Only if you are found committed the act do you get a consequence. You keep forgetting that KHSAA & Legal System both agreed that both youth / programs was wrong in the incident. As I said before it should have ben addressed by the KHSAA and the school and been done with.

And sometimes the truth comes out! And if your not guilty, then there is no punishment.

No surprise to me he was found not guilty. It was well-reported that both sides played a huge part in the incident, and there was absolutely no way a jury or anyone else could put the only blame on that one kid.

Alright, guys.
I think this one has went on long enough.
I allowed it to keep going just so the record could show that the kid was proven innocent.
