South Laurel 43 Corbin 41
#1
Final.
#2
Congrats to Cards. Have to play better than this to beat Tiggers.
#3
Both teams played well.
#4
Congrats SL

Corbin and Coach P came in with a game plan and executed about as well as they could. South was forced to win without Taylor and Griffith. Anders again struggled with foul problems. Corbin really struggling to knock down outside shots. Still a big win for South as this is the type of game that they have a hard time winning. A lot of valuable mins for Phelps and Feltner off the bench for South. Taylor for Corbin had over half of the hounds 41 points tonight. He's impressive and only getting better.

Ivs said it all year, Corbin is better than people think, and very well coached, i dont think South played well though.
#7
I look for Corbin to win the rematch, never count Coach P and company out...

Referees need to let these kids play ball (within reason)and quit trying to control the game. Too many fouls called, and not fun to watch at all! They were beating and banging on Caleb all night(with no whistle blown !). Hard to play, and have fun under those conditions. And that's the bottom line.....

So do you want the referees to let them or call fouls, it started off let them play, then went to call fouls. Complaining about Refs on your floor is just making excuses, for being out game planned and played, South just had way more talent to carry them to victory in this one.

One thing is for sure, Clay's 32 point win over Corbin looks a lot better.
#11
Clays 32 point win looks really good. This game was hard to watch as a basketball fan.
#12
Forty plus fouls is too many fouls called on any teams floor broken arrow. Home game, away game, wherever. Not making excuses just stating the fact. If it was your team, you wouldn't like it either.

I sit thru a girls varsity game at somerset monday nite where somerset shot 41 fts. If my math is correct thats just somerset shooting a ft every 46.8 seconds. thats not counting south laurel fts. hard to watch

And how many fouls were called in the Corbin @ clay game Walter? Any Clay players in foul trouble? Believe that was Corbin's first game of the season too,if my memory serves. After a thirty point loss in one game, any team is going to play tougher in a later game. Especially considering Corbin always plays South like they are in a championship. And why aren't you in Vegas?

And Corbin doesn't play Clay like a championship game? I stand 100 percent by the only statement I made. That result DOES make Clay's win more impressive. As for Vegas, it is NONE of your business where I am. Cause Walter said so.

It was corbins 2nd game of season and Smith has 2 fouls 3 mins, into first quarter and played through it, but you said you wanted more fouls that Taylor was getting killed, Coach P spread you guys out and forced the bigs to guard, guards. He did the same thing last year to clay in region and tried it the this year, Clay could guard them simple fact
#17
You guys won take it and move on, but the fact is if someone spreads you guys out then Davis had better make adjustments
#18
Corbin should have won this game on the foul line alone. :HitWall:
#19
Per Times Tribune, South 18-28 from the foul line. Corbin 10-17 from the line.
#20
This is the very type game south lost last year and probably should have lost this one but they found a way to win. Clay always seems to find a way to win when they should have lost. its a good thing to learn.

Excellent point. You have to learn how to win the close ones.
