congrats St. X

That was stupid of them and the coach! So why even bother playing St. X if you don't intend to compete! I think that I would have found an alternative to their suspension. Like maybe against a weaker opponent or maybe one game each but alternated between the two. If that is how it goes for Russell, then I guess the rest of the 16th hopes that they violate team rules again in March! lol

2 points,,,,
1. If you break team rules and do something STUPID,, like get caught drinking alcohol, sneaking our of the hotel or what ever as a high school kid... You should be dealt with and YES - DONT WAIT FOR A SLACKER TEAM TO BE PINISHED.....
2. If the violation of team rules is something like, dont be in the hallway after a certain time and you go to the snack machine kinda , crap.. .Then the coach is going out of the way to make a point... "I cant coach a basketball team and if my starters are sitting out I CAN BLAME THEM for my LOSS !!!!!"
You pick but know the facts,, I think it would be interesting to hear.

Romans 14:11
It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "

Wow! That's pretty amazing! I hope those guys get back quick, it would be great to see teammates finish #1 & #2 in the state in scoring this year!

Maybe you should read that again and take the phrase "between both of them" into consideration.

I think Coach Dodd did the right thing here. What would your idea teach the kids, that sports and winning were more important than anything. Coach was doing the right thing inspite of the fact he probably thought he would lose and to me that shows character and that's always more important than a win. I would rather my son or daughter play for a coach who win teach them life lessons as well as athletics rather than play for someone with your ideals on this matter. JMO.

It's not a problem. It's just boys being boys. It's not like they were drinking or sneaking out or anything like that, it was a minor team rule infraction in which the Coach wanted to make a point. That was my understanding of the matter. Coach Dodd is not only a B-ball coach, he's also a life coach to these boys and he's trying to get them prepared for college and the real world which awaits.
