Biggest regular season week of the year.
Who wins?!
CovCath played Ryle closer than Highlands did, and CovCath has played a tougher schedule, so will the Highlands just be able to score at will like they do most years?
If it comes to ground and pound, I like CovCath.
Thoughts?

Highlands will beat Cov Cath because they always do. Birds by 7.

How many games in a row has Highlands beaten Covington Catholic? A lot!!! This is the year they stop the streak 21-14 CC. Of course, Highlands will win in the playoffs, but at least they have to start the streak all over.

Disagree...... Highlands rule as the juggernaut is over (that is, of course, until they open up the boarders for enrollment to outside of Fort Thomas again :Cheerlead)
Even when they've lost in the regular season, when the teams are this close, CovCath has won in the playoffs ('97 and '01, for example).

2001 was a long time ago. I cant remember the last time both teams struggled to win games. I know they won't be down for very long. Selfishly, It wouldn't hurt my feelings, if they take their time reloading.

Highlands owns CC until they prove otherwise

No owning this year. Covcath blueboys could potentially win both the regular season and the playoff game.
The scales are a lot more even than ever before and I have no problem giving the blueboys a slight edge. It is a rivalry so kids do step up their games. Looking forward to watching this one on the TV.

Good luck to both teams for an injury free game...

When I get moderator status Im moving this thread to NKY topix because both these teams are jokes. South western will put a running clock on either team in the playoffs. #BIGBOYFOOTBALL :truestory:

Noted....go back to watching your boy Ron Jeremy and we all look forward to seeing if Southwestern makes it to the finals. And if they don't? Who will?

We are all playing for 2nd place.:eyeroll:

So you have BG and southwestern in the final or semi-final based on the bracket? And all pun intended you hope SW slides thru the backdoor to a championship...

Not too many people discussing this game. Wonder why?

As far as a state championship. It doesn't matter who wins

I see a lot of people ready to count Covington Catholic out of the state title hunt way too early. The Colonels are very well coached and if they get over the mental hurtle of losing to Highlands, their insanely tough schedule will make them a tough out for anybody in a few weeks. CovCath needs this win and they really need to win it handily to establish some momentum.

Count Cov Cath out until they prove the Birdies don't own them.

E's Army Wrote:Count Cov Cath out until they prove the Birdies don't own them.I agree. Unless somebody else knocks off Highlands in the playoffs, CovCath does not stand much of winning its region. Losing to the worst Highlands team in many years at home 14-10 does not bode well for the Colonels' playoff hopes. I don't see this year's team beating Highlands on the road after the poor effort that they gave today.

To either. It's just when they get beat in the playoffs
