Well, we have another great week of games on the slate this week in 2a. I think you guys will be impressed by this week's top ten. Without further ado, here we go:

1) Murray 2a @ Mayfield 2a
Here we have a great game between 2 traditional powers that now, once again, find themselves in the same district. While Murray has not beaten Mayfield since 1997, they have given the Cards some of their better games for the last two seasons. Both teams have been very successful as of late as well. Last year Mayfield edged out a tough one at Murray by a score of 21-10. Murray went on to the semis with a 9-5 record. Mayfield finished up last year at the 1a state champs at 14-1. This year they appear to be on the same paths. Murray comes in at 4-2 and Mayfield at 5-1. Murray lost a game this year while being banged up, but now appears to be healthy again. Mayfield on the other hand is handicapped, since they lost a LB for the year in Jaime Tapia and will also have all everything RB Trajon Bright out for this one. This game should be a war and should be a packed house.

2) Campbellsville 1a @ Danville 2a
Here we have a game that to the naked eye, would appear to be a great one. However, if you look a little deeper, you may see some of the luster being polished off. That because Campbellsville has been hindered by the injury bug, namely their RB. Here we have a game between 2 teams that finished up 2014 with similar records as well. Campbellsville finished at 7-5 and Danville at 8-4. Danville ran away with this matchup last year 40-0. Campbellsville however appears to be improved at 6-0 on the season. Danville looks to be on course again at 4-1. This will hopefully be another great one. This should also be a packed house and exciting atmosphere.

3) Lynn Camp 1a @ Clinton County 2a
Here we have another great revenge matchup between two similar teams. They both finished up 2014 in similar fashion as Lynn Camp went 2-9 and Clinton Co at 3-7. This game was a war last year as Lynn Camp edged Clinton Co by a score of 28-22. This year Clinton Co appears to be a little better though, entering this competition with a record of 3-3. Lynn Camp comes in also improved at 4-2. This should be an exciting one to watch.

4) Gallatin County 2a @ Carroll County 2a
Here we have another revenge game between two teams that are pretty familiar with one another. Gallatin comes in with the better record at 3-3 and Carroll at 2-4. Carroll Co took this one last year by a score of 40-28. Gallatin went on to a 5-6 record last year and Carroll Co had a disappointing 3-8 record. This looks to be another great one to watch.

5) East Ridge 2a @ Prestonburg 2a
Here we have a what looks like a dandy, between two 2-3 teams. Pburg had the more impressive season in 2014, by finishing at 10-3, but appear to be falling this year. E Ridge had a 5-5 record last year and appear to be right on tract for that this year. This too looks as though it should be a great one to watch.

6) Allen Central 2a @ Leslie County 2a
Here we have another great game between 2 teams that want the leg up in the playoffs. Allen Cent finished last year with a disappointing 3-8 record but, have appeared to corrected some things this year as they are off to a 3-2 start. Leslie Co appears to have picked up right where they left off from their 8-3 record of last year, with an impressive 5-0 start this year. This should be a good test for both these teams.

7) Glasgow 2a @ Green County 2a
Here we have a game between 2 teams that in the recent past have made a bit of a name for themselves in 2a. They have both fallen on some hard times and are trying to rebuild at this point. Glasgow appears to be a little ahead at this point as they finished up last year at 8-4. Green Co finished with a disappointing record of 2-8. Green Co appears to be off to a slightly better start this year with a record of 2-4 already. Glasgow appears to be on a slight decline as well, as they come in with a record of 3-3. Last year Glasgow won this one 35-6. Has Green Co made enough improvements and Glasgow fallen enough to close this gap? We shall find out Friday.

8) Bethlehem 1a @ Covington Holy Cross 2a
Here we have a game between a more successful smaller school and a larger school with not as much success. Last year HC went 1-10 on the season but appear to be improved as they are already at 2-3. Bethlehem finished last year at 7-5 and appear to be on the rise as well this year with a 4-1 start. This should be another good one to watch.

9) Owen County 2a @ Walton-Verona 2a
Here we have a game between two teams that finished last year at opposite ends of the spectrum and now appear to be starting with similar records to one another. Owen County finished up last year at 1-9. WV finished up at 10-2. WV won this one last year by a score of 50-22. Both teams appear to be evenly matched this year though, as Owen Co comes in at 2-3 and WV at 2-4. This will be another great one to watch.

10) DeSales 2a @ North Hardin 6a
Here we have a game between a large school needing some success and a small school that exemplifies it. N Hardin had a dismal 2014, going 2-8 on the year. DeSales had an impressive year in 2014, going 14-1 as the 2a state champs. This year it would appear they are headed in the same directions as DeSales comes in at 4-1 and N Hardin at 2-4. This too will be an interesting one to watch.
