Tilghman 21 McCracken 7 final
#1
Tilghman showing surprise defensive strength.
#2
UK signee Zy'Aire Hughes from McCracken Co. was not a factor.

9 rushes for 42 yards.

Hughes was 0-1 passing and had 4 receptions for 30 yards

I tried to tell everyone. They got a coach. They already had the athletes. See you all in 2 weeks.
#4
The flashy Mustangs came out for pregame in their brand new uniforms, some with their gloves fashionably hanging from their face masks, and brand new white helmets. Went back into the locker room and put on their brand new maroon helmets, just to come out and get beat on their brand new field by the little school across town.

They apparently got the McCracken coach.

myson , I want to go to the racetrack with you - you posted Tilghmans last touchdown two minutes before they scored.

There were reports late in the game of a cheer in the Tilghman section saying 'we want Mayfield.'

Be careful of what you ask for.

You are blowing smoke as usual. both teams are mediocre cupcakes.Mayfield can go ahead and pencil a W in.

Last year, PTs line was young and on the smallish size. Those kids are now a year older, bigger, stronger, more mature and have a better understanding of the new coaches system. They had some nice skill kids last year and I'm sure still have them this year. The one key thing different from past years is discipline. They were always enigmatic under the Wyatt regime. Under Rogers, they're playing disciplined football. Not a good sign for the rest of 3a.

This could be the year the sleeping giant wakes up.
#14
I hope not till after the Mayfield game.

History has shown that Lone Oak and McCracken Co. have tended to start slow and (got) get better as the year progresses. Also McCracken is in a bit of upheaval with the decision to go outside of the program (and state) to replace Jack Haskins and also losing most of the assistants, some of whom ended up at PT. So I imagine some things will have to sort out for a week or two. Also I am not yet convinced McCracken is the best 6A team outside of Louisville, as some have projected. Tilghman OTOH has tended to start stronger and then falter in the playoffs and it's still way early. We will know more when Central Hardin comes to town Friday, probably still smarting from a narrow loss to Boyle Co..

I was only able to listen, but I was told by people who saw the game that it was the best they had seen Tilghman look in terms of organization and consistency in many years. Tilghman has 21 seniors so hang on, could be an interesting year.

Nice win for Tilghman.
#17
This game really surprised me. I guess 3A is really going to be loaded.
#18
So I wonder now how the new MC coach will handle the superstar getting in the face of the official?
#19
I look for the stangs to finish bout 500. I think PT will do better than any year since 2009
#20
McCracken will improve as the year wears on, but, I don't think they're at near the level of the past couple of years. A lot of youth in the trenches, new coaches, new system, etc.. I expect them to still be pretty good come playoff time..

Tilghman finally has a coach that has all those athletes playing with discipline and playing together, plus, they have a very good QB that can tuck it and run or pass it effectively. They play such a tough schedule, they may still lose 3 or 4 games in the regular season, but, they'll be as battle tested as any team in the state come playoff time and a team you won't want to see.
#21
Besides McCracken Co, PT still has non-district games with Central Hardin, Mayfield, Graves Co, Madisonville and Murray and Caldwell still in the district, so, like I said, they could easily lose 3 or 4 games, but, still be a tough out come playoffs. I actually expect them to lose the next couple of games, then run the table to end at 8-2.
#22
I don't expect PT to take 4 losses this year. I think they are going to be much better than most thought. I think they have a good balance of run versus pass. I think they have a good balance of speed and size. I just think the system is still a little in it's infantsy at this point.

They will lose the next two.but should be fine after that due to the cupcake schedule ,until they reach the playoffs. system is in its what?

Yeah, they shouldn't chant that for a long time. However, I don't think they did. I think for the most part there is a lot of mutual respect.
#27
PT looks like they are good and getting better.

They have lost their last two games by a bunch??? Why would you say that?
#29
They are better this year. When you step up in competition, you get beat sometimes and sometimes it's bad.
#30
I think they have a tendency to hang their heads when they get down a couple scores though. That's the exact opposite of our Cards.
