New head coach at Green, Russell County coming off of a tough year. Who ya got?!

I think you are going to see two, very similar squads. Green County is running the flex bone (great offense, especially for them) and Russell has moved back under center as well in a flex/double wing look (not foot to foot, double wing) for the most part, where they are doing some traditional flex schemes & wing t concepts (adaptable to both).
With that, I think you will see a low scoring game; whatever the outcome. Savon Brewer for Green is a player. I'd expect a steady dose of him from the FB spot. He will be the best player on the field IMO. Their QB, Milby, is a shifty guy.
I know Green got in the wishbone some last year, against Campellsville in particular and he torched them running the midline.

Looking forward to seeing what Russell has. Tough season last year. They have some athletes just need to get some blocking up front and defense needs to come ready to play. I'll take Russell in a close (low scoring) game. 13-8

I really think we are going to see an improved green county team.
This offense fits the personnel for Green very well. Senior QB Matney should have a fine year and Green has a plethora of backs to choose from.
Watched Russell in the scrimmage and i expect a green victory, perhaps convincingly.

Agreed. All of the major skill kids return. Green was so youthful last year; not playing freshmen all of the place youthful, but loaded with sophomores and juniors & had a ridiculous slew of injuries. I still think Engstrand got a very, very raw deal, but that's high school sports for you.

This is a battle of the teams from the last two communities where I pastored in KY before moving to TN. I have friends that are fans of both teams. I wish both teams a great game and season! My heart is with the Lakers though as this is the first year in 6 that I have not had a boy on the team where I was the booster club president. Their team is full of young men who I have coached in youth league and have cheered for for years now. Anchor Down boys!! My freshman and sophomore will play their first varsity game for the White County Warriors in Sparta TN tonight but part of us will always be Lakers!

Russell-0 Green-18 (half)
Russell can't get the ball moving down the field. Green is taking advantage of it.
