WOW -- thought JC would win but not by this margin.

The regional tourney is better now that LC got moved to the 60th. We now have JC, SCHS, and LC in the regional semifinals. Makes for a much, MUCH, better field. In my opinion.
Good luck JC. You all were very impressive tonight. LC's first half, and JC's entire game, were dominating this evening.

Total domination by jc and the way they played it will be hard for someone else to win the region

Kyle Gullett showed tonight exactly why he is the best player in the 15th region. One of the most unselfish players you'll ever watch but he completely took over in the first quarter and was practically scoring at will.

Gullett came out on a mission, had 20 in the 1st quarter.

JC hit everything tonight
Hard to see them shooting that high of a percentage consistently.

Had a feeling that Central would win, but really figured this would be the best game of the tournament, boy was I surprised at this outcome. Central dominated wire to wire, and Kyle Gullett really put on a show in the 1st quarter alone, outscoring Valley 20-7.
Valley was just way out of sync, like they didn't want to be there. Everyone definitely knows the history of SV over the last 10-15 years, especially when it comes to the Regional Tournament. They are a shoe in to always make it, and to even win it, but they just looked like a team who didn't want to be there this time around.

What happened to Valley? They have a nice team, thought this would be a very good game.

Jim Hicks happened! They have a really nice team. Had an even better one until half the team quit. Seven refused to play at the beginning of the year when he brought in three transfers, and then three quit throughout the year including two of the three transfers.
I've watched them since middle school.Three of the players on the team were middle school county champs, one was East Ridges best player and then Swindell who came over as a freshman and either started or was sixth man since he was a freshman. The team had talent, don't think anyone can argue with that.
The coach is just to big of an egomaniac to lead a team. I was told my statements on here earlier in the season saying the same thing were "personal" and that I was bashing him because of my son. Maybe so, but it doesn't mean they aren't true. That team did not respect that man. They feared him maybe, but not respect. And why should they? He brings in kids to play over ones who have lived and played here all their lives, he brainwashes them that anything said against him or his actions are bad for the team, he acts like a crybaby and a psycho during games yelling, hitting, or throwing things, I have heard he got caught this year in a stats scandal where he boosted some players points in the books, and the latest I heard was he made the team stay with him at his house during the tournament. Control freak? He might make a good cult leader but he is definitely not someone to be coaching our kids.
I felt sorry my kid and the others that quit at the first of the year but now I feel sorry for all the ones who stayed because its going to be nothing but down hill as long as he is there. I'd donate my Jeep to the school tomorrow if they would just let Bartley or Jerall take over or at least get someone from around here who would put our kids first.

I'm like you Shady.. I don't much care for coaches who act like nuts on the bench but sorry.. I do think the right players played this year.,And I heard coach Bartley and Company sat Hicks down and talked to him after the Pikeville District game and told him his immaturity on the bench was hurting the team so maybe that will fix some of the problems up there at Valley.., But if what I heard about the points awards and the cooking of the books is true he does need to go! It ruins the integrity of the program and is a slap in the face to every kid who ever wore a Valley uniform..,Anyone who does that disrespects the game IMO.

I was trying to give you a chance until the end. :thatsfunn Your personal vendetta clouds your judgement. This team didn't have the talent to win the 15th Region. They shouldn't have gotten blown out, but they weren't a top 3 or 4 team based on talent alone. I would love to hear about the 7 players who refused to play. (Names please) I still say you're a crybaby for complaining about transfers getting playing time when they're better. It's going to happen at ANY school.
Everything else you said is gossip until you have actual proof. Something tells me you won't find any actual proof though. I'll say I was wrong when it happens. I don't feel sorry for the ones who stayed. They won the 15th All A and won the 59th District. Sounds like your son missed out on some good memories because you were too proud to give a coach from the outside a chance to succeed. Funny how you kept quiet after the All A and the 59th District tourny.
