Eastern Ky and The Mountains get screwed again.
12-25-2014, 01:39 PM
I guess they figured out they messed up not putting Hatfield on the Offense list. Not even Honorable Mention lol Smh. Good to see him at least get on there for Defense. I want to know how Horton didn't make the list on D besides Honorable Mention? There are several more from Eastern Ky that not only deserve to be on there but Belong on that list.

I don't have a dog in the fight but I do believe Korzep from Russell should have least received a honorable mention 3rd string. I've seen less talent make it previous years. Also I would have bumped Racelands Messer to a possible 2nd string. Just my opinion.
12-25-2014, 06:31 PM
congrats to luke schaeffer from lc. heck of a punter who can pick his school with his hang time and distance.

Trevor Wright a linebacker of Shelby Valley, was 2nd in all classes in tackles at the end of the year.
Austin Elswick a cornerback of Shelby Valley was 1st in the regular season in interceptions in all classes and ended up 2nd in all classes at the end of the year.
There is deff something wrong with this picture, I mean not even gone table mention? C'mon man

Korzep definitely deserved at least honorable mention status. He had one of the great defensive seasons in recent memory for a Russell Red Devil and was the MVP on a resurgent Russell team. I also agree that Messer deserved higher placement on the team. How on earth is Ray Horton only honorable mention? Did he lose a 1 on 1 battle all year?
Also, with all due respect to Clay McKee, I don't understand how he gets 3rd team status ahead of QBs like Riley Hall, Drew Moore, Skyler Griffith, or Ray Zuberer.

Really, try just to congratulate those who make it and understand the process.

I was surprised about Austin hatfield. they won a state championship and he was a big part of that. he should have been 1st team rb. or at the very least 1st team honorable mention as a rb.

I may have missed it, but is this a repost of the CJ coaches poll or the AP?

all of these coaches are evaluating players off a stat sheet. 1st of all shame on the coaches who did not take the time to fill out the ballot. cudos to the 112 coaches who took the time to at least turn in a ballot. this is a time consuming process . some coaches lobby each other to promote their players and school. some coaches just fill out the ballot based on stats. and some coaches think it is a waste of time to fill out a ballot. I think area fan voting should be used as well.

If you're trying to be a turd......you've hit the jackpot.......
Sorry.....I don't care who voted in the overall process....any All-State team that leaves off Austin Hatfield @ fullback/Running Back and Rayquan Horton at DL/DE is seriously flawed too the point of being broke. BTW...that's not a slap at the kids who did make it. It's a slap at the coaches and the overall process.
You take that ever how you want to....

Clearly, moms and dads need to unite and establish their own "Romper Room All-State" team, with (obviously) an unlimited number of first-team selections. Geez.
My point: it's a TEAM sport. Individual acknowledgments are pointless and antithetical to the the game's true value. This now ends your coerced glimpse into common sense. You may now resume your self-centered diatribes.

Spot on. Fans/parents should NEVER have any say in awards like this. Next thing you know they will want to vote for the Heisman too. Also, this seems to be the AP vote, not the CJ coaches. CJ doesn't do third team.

congratulations on the ones that made the list.there were several from the eastern mountains that should have made the list, imo.

It should be a tremendous honor to be selected to an All-State team, as these teams have existed for decades. The voting process should be taken more seriously, but clearly, it's not given the proper respect. It should never be a popularity contest.
Opponents of Belfry next year had better hope that Horton doesn't use this slight as motivation in the off season. :wieghts:
Of course, he does have two more years to make 1st team..... That's a scary thought.:freezing:

It is when these parents and fans start calling them out and saying this one should not be here and so on.....
How many of these people have seen all the candidates? It is the best system we have for now. How would you suggest we fix it? I promise you one thing it is not get on a message board and say this one should be here and this one should have done this.

If you feel like Eastern Kentucky or mountain guys are getting screwed have the coaches vote. It doesn't take that many votes to be honorable mention.
12-27-2014, 05:03 AM
This same one thats posted on here 3 times. its the courier Journals (Coaches) right? If not, there exactly the same...

They probably are the same.

FYI:
For players like Hatfield and Crider, you can make All-State only at ONE position. On ONE side of the ball.
You go on the side you got more votes.
I suspect Crider and Hatfield weren't listed on offense ... because they got more votes on the other side.
There are plenty of kids who play more than one position (Eli Brown of Warren East was a good running back, Kicker Guillory of John Hardin is also a good punter), but I was led to believe C-J COACHES All-State limits you to one position.

AP team has NOT come out yet. Last season, didn't even come out in December.

Congratulations to the honorees and their teammates who get "an assist" on enabling their success!
