DuPont Manual was ahead by 39 at halftime. I heard that the clock runs if the halftime margin is 35 or more.

What is wrong at Ashland? They are one of the traditionally great programs in Kentucky.

When Ashland was seen by some as having a "traditionally great program", they were usually developing their own talent. That was a goodly number of years ago. In the last fifteen years or so, they have depended a good bit on convenient transfers. The sources of many of those transfers have either dried up or have no talent to offer.
The bottom line is that Ashland has a lack of talent and nowhere to go to acquire any. I believe that, if honest, their fans will agree with that assessment.

They have some talent and athletes. They just choose to not play. Would it be enough to compete in Lexington or Louisville consistently? No. It would be enough to make a run in the 16th.

Yes, 1928 National Champs to 1961 State Champs. Johnson to Conley. Ashland
was a raw goods industrial center for the nation; iron, oil and precursor chemicals.
Similar to present day Scott County/Toyota. But, bigger and more dominant. Knowledgeable and polite fans made them the class of the mountains and in my opinion,
the state.

Why would "talented athletes" choose not to play? It is obvious that help is desperately needed.

I guess they are headed in a different direction. My question is, were they ever encouraged to come out and play?

I hate to see Ashland down like this.

The Rosehill players that transfered over have bailed them out the last few years but they are all gone now.

Right on target. The cupboard is empty at Rose Hill and those who know how to fill a cupboard are no longer there. Also, there are no mothers being "transferred" from Huntington and no doctor left who is willing to serve as "benefactor".
If, as washed up, posted there are decent athletes not playing, part of a coach's job is to encourage them to play. Is Coach Biggs not well liked? He seems like a nice fellow. The team sure needs some players because the DuPont Manual score could have been much worse than 50 points and Manual is, at absolute best, only the third best team in its region. Trinity and Ballard are far ahead of Manual.
This season will seriously test the maroon faithful. Good luck to them.

Curtain call for Buddy. All of his success has been transfer related. He should tithe on Winslow Rd.

Excellent observation although, as I recall, he is a fine product of CovCath. Nonetheless, both he and the maroon faithful owe a seriously deep debt of gratitude to the Winslow Road brigade. Ashland's whining to KHSAA paid huge dividends- but, alas, no trips to Rupp Arena.

Worst Ashland team ever.
This is what happens when you don't develope your younger players. Not just a select few but all potential athletes.
