Well fellas, we are at the time of year when it gets really hard to find ten games to put on this list. District play usually results in a ton of blowouts. But I have done my homework and I think I have a good list of the top ten for this week. So, without further ado, here it is.
1) Fairview @ #10 Paintsville
This matchup is of 2 good teams that figure to be in the mix of things come playoff time. They both are from the most competitive district in 1a and both are fighting for one of the top 2 seeds in their district. Last year Fairview won this matchup at home 44-7. This is a different year though and Paintsville appears to be the favorite at home in this one. Fairview comes in with a record of 4-2 and a Lit Rating of 77.1. They average a game score of 38-26. Paintsville comes in at 5-1 with a Lit rating of 67.2. They average a game score of 34-17. This should be a very good game and worth the price of admission.
2) #9 Holy Cross @ Ky Country Day
This is usually the matchup for supremacy of this district as well. Since 2009 at least, it has been the winner of this game that wins this district. Last year Holy Cross laid a beat down on KCD at home 40-7. This year Holy Cross would again figure to be the front runner. Holy Cross comes into this one with a record of 5-1 and a Lit rating of 90.0. They average a game score of 31-15. KCD comes in at 3-3 with a Lit rating of 64.6. They average a game score of 24-18. This should be an exciting one as well. The best part is the Bearcats faithful don't even have to break out the jets to fly anywhere.
3) Berea @ Lynn Camp
This here should also be a hard fought, tight game. Berea comes into this one with a record of 3-3 and a Lit rating of 35.9. They average a game score of 21-31. Lynn Camp comes into this one at 2-4 with a Lit rating of 15.8. They average a game score of 15-43. Last year Berea took this one in a close matchup at Berea by a score of 34-26. I think this one should be just as good as last years matchup.
4) Bethlehem @ Caverna
This should be another good matchup between two very evenly matched teams. Last year Bethlehem shut Caverna out at home by a score of 49-0. I think this should be a different story this year though. Bethlehem comes into this one at 3-3 with a Lit rating of 64.8. They average a game score of 29-23. Caverna comes in as one of the surprises of the year at 3-3 with a Lit rating of 43.4. They average a game score of 26-33. This should be a great game and the winner comes away with a winning record.
5) Bracken Co @ Eminence
We have a meeting of two teams with perfect records here. Last year Eminence took this one on the road by a score of 36-8. Bracken Co comes into this one at 0-6 with a Lit rating of 1.0. They average a game score of 9-45. Eminence comes in at 0-7 with a Lit rating of 19.7. They average a game score of 15-42. These two teams should be ready to fight the hardest they have all year to get that elusive first win of the season.
6) Phelps @ Allen Central
This is another game between two teams desperate for a win. Phelps comes in at 0-5 with a Lit rating of 3.0. They average a game score of 8-46. They were the victors in this matchup at home last year by a margin of 52-12. Allen Cent comes into this matchup at 1-5 with a Lit rating of 26.3. They average a game score of 17-35. This should be a very good matchup with Allen Cent looking poised for a little revenge.
7) #4 Frankfort @ #12 Paris
This is another good matchup of teams that figure to have a lot to say about seedings in the playoffs. Frankfort blew out Paris last year at home 59-0. Frankfort comes into this one at 4-2 with a Lit rating of 103.6. The Panthers average a game score of 32-24. The Panthers will be banged up and leg weary from a long out of state trip this past week. Paris comes into this one with a record of 5-1 and a Lit rating of 66.1. They average a game score of 31-15. The winner of this one should be the winner of the district.
8) Bellevue @ #6 Beechwood
This is another matchup of the two traditional district powers. Bellevue gave the Tigers a scare last year in the first half before going down 22-56 in this matchup. Bellevue comes into this one at 4-3 with a Lit rating of 68.1. They average a game score of 32-24. Beechwood comes into this one off their most impressive win of the season at 4-2. They have a Lit rating of 110.7. They average a game score of 39-20. Could Bellevue be catching them at the right time, just after such a big win? This will be a good one to watch.
9) Dayton @ Ludlow
This should be another good game to watch. Ludlow shut Dayton out last year in this matchup by a score of 46-0. Dayton comes into this one at 2-4 with a Lit rating of 24.3. They average a game score of 17-30. Ludlow comes in at 4-2 with a Lit rating of 49.3. They average a game score of 27-20. This should be a good one to watch as well.
10) Campbellsville @ #3 Williamsburg
This should be another good district matchup here. Williamsburg shut out Campbellsville on the road last year by a score of 47-0. This is a new year though and a new Campbellsville team. This could be one of the top 2 games of the Yellow Jackets season. Campbellsville comes into this one at 3-3 with a Lit rating of 81.4. They average a game score of 23-22. The jackets come in at 6-0 with a Lit rating of 100.2. They average a game score of 43-16. This should be a fun environment.

Im interested to see how legit Campbellsville is. They haventhad the toughest schedule but they have some good speed and atheletes, interested to see how they fair this year in comparison to last against the Jackets.

I think the schedule for the jackets may hurt them in this one. I think they are too used to things coming easily. I think Campbellsville will play them about as good as Newport did. I don't think they will win but they will make a good showing.
