1.) Belfry (4-0)
2.) Pike County Central (3-1)
3.) Lawrence County (2-2)
4.) Sheldon Clark (0-4)
I think this is how Class 3A, District 8 will turn out this season. I know Lawrence Co. is hungry but I think folks are underestimating my Pike County Central Hawks, we return alot of experience.
I do think next season it will shift a little bit more in LC's favor, we have a senior-heavy team this season and are set for another slight rebuild next season.
But for 2014, I think it'll stay the same as it has been...but best of luck to everyone.

1.) Belfry 3-0

3.) PCC 1-2
4.) SC 0-3
I think that LC and PCC are a toss up and the only reason I give the edge to LC is because the game is in Louisa.

Well we will have to agree to disagree lol. Lawrence County is probably the most experienced team in district 8. We return most of the team form 2013 on both side of the ball. We will be a senior heavy team for the next couple of seasons(that is what happens when you have a few years of small senior groups) we have had a lot of freshman and sophomores starting for the last few seasons. We have a large senior group this year and it will be bigger next season because we have a huge junior class on the team right now. The last few seasons our roster was very small but this year he have somewhere in the 60's. This is not the same team as 2013. Our offensive line is huge and strong and our defensive line is about as big as last years offensive line. We also have more speed this year then we have had in a long time and we have more of a passing threat then maybe ever. The only place we lost anything from last year was on offense in the backfield and replaced it with more speed, on defense we lost nothing and the whole offensive line is back and we gained some pretty good transfers and got a lot of talented kids to come out who didn't last year.
Belfry (4-0)
Lawrence (3-1
Pike Cent (2-2

I would never underestimate any team and I'm not underestimating Pike Central, but I also would not underestimate (if I were you) that having a new coach is going to take probably a season or so to get things going perfectly smooth. I have a lot of respect for Pike Central and have no reason not to. We both need to rise up and knock that chip off of Belfry's shoulder.

Just making a point. All the wins and losses should be equal when all added together. You can't have more wins than losses in a district or vice versa.

Daddycat27, I think IF we win it this year that would make it 5 years in a row. But we have a lot of work and growing up to do before we get there. I have total confidence in this coaching staff and team that we will get there.

Home playoff games mean A LOT! And the only way you can get at least two is win your district.

Dixie Heights, Campbell County, Simon Kenton, Boone County, and Ryle are going to beat the snot out of one another. SK will have the biggest target on their back after winning the district last season.
Campbell County and Dixie Heights will be their toughest competition and either is capable of winning it. Going to be an awful lot of fun watching how it plays out!

Hard hittin', helmet splittin', head bustin' action at The Rock this year. Whether SC wins or not, they're only a few years away from being competitive again.

No argument, but if it was it would not be for 2nd place, but for who is improving the quickest and closing the gap the most on Belfry. Keep laughing, but every program will have it's down years from time to time and no team is immune to this including Belfry. Do you remember the late 90s? What was going on with Belfry at that time. You had the Same coach and Lawrence County took it to you quite a few times. Trust me the time will come when Belfry will not be on top and you would be suprised just how quick it can happen.

Just like you I was a fan of the Pirates even through the down years and I do know just how fast things can turn. I actually lived in Louisa for a while and followed the dogs for a while. When Parker was a wide receiver. Oh and I believe it was 3 times you took it to us. I could be wrong though. Anyways, if you give Belfry a good game. I will tell ya, if you beat us, I will say good game and I will have my opinions on what went wrong. Belfry hasn't always been on top of the mountain. But for now we Pirate fans will enjoy it and when you are on the mountain top you will enjoy it as well.

I'm not a Belfry basher in any way. I have all the respect in the world for what Belfry and coach Haywood have done. In all honesty I am very jealous and I want Lawrence County to be where Belfry is now. I am a huge footbal nut and I know good fundamentally sound football when I see it and Belfry has that. I want it to where the Pirates and Dawg's are going at it neck and neck every year for the crown.
