Congrats to the Lady Eagles as they deserved the win. LCC did well this season as they lost four starters from last year but could not overcome a tough Leslie County team. LCC will be back in the hunt next year along with Leslie County as LCC loses only one starter. Good luck and congrats to the Leslie County Lady Eagles and Coach Collett. I hope the winner of their game with Powell County wins the 14th region.

Congrats Eagles! Hopefully there is a 54th district re-match for the region title.

The cougars fell apart at the worse time. The district tournament gave a little indication on what could happen. Don't know what happen but maybe in the off season this team can work on it a little better. Only loosing one will definetly help.

I respectively resent your fell apart comment regarding the lady cougars. Ask anyone that knows anything about basketball (and not someone who coaches the Wal-Mart basketball team) who would have thought LCC would win 21 games and finish 10-0 in their district? They lost over 90% of their offense from the previous year and were competitive in every game. If you are so informed about EVERY sport at LCC, why not get involved and quit complaining about everything and everyone. Don't use the I work excuse. So does almost every one else who has a part in the successes or failure of the LCC athletic programs. Either put up or quit complaining about everything. And by the way, I know who you are, and I saw every game but 1 this year, and never once saw your friendly face at a game. Get your facts correct.

It is clearly shown by the KABC picking Dickie as Coach of the Year. He works these girls hard. They need to work on individual skills to help in a team concept. Really proud of the girls and the coaching staff.

Work is not a excuse but when I see my kids 4 hours a day I think they come before a game. I agree with ukin1. Not playing the last week hurt them. To barely win your district which you have been so dominate during tournament time. The Wal Mart joke isn't funny and has nothing to do with basketball. To get involved means you have time, and since I do work for wal mart, and see wal mart more than I see my own family, it would be hard for me to get involved. My comment was not negative but fact. They fell apart. I will say the future is bright and working hard in the off season will pay off for the ladies. If my comments offended the cougar faithful then I do apologize but I stand by my comments that they fell apart.

They just couldnt get nothing to fall and leslie made the majorty of there shots. had they shot a little better they would have won. They where the better team imo. Look at the shooting stats they had the ball more but it was just one of those nights. Great season by the cougars

Congrats, Leslie! Nice win!

Letcher did not fall apart. The answer is simple: on Tuesday night, Leslie County was the better ball team. All year, everyone has said the 14th Region is wide open and that PCC, Leslie, Letcher, Powell or Breathitt could win. Unfortunately, two of those teams drew each other first round. The four remaining teams who were expected to be in the hunt will play on Friday night. All four are pretty equal teams, with one dominant player. Who wins will depend on who shows up, who is healthy, and a little bit of luck.
