Regional tournament time is here, and there are some pretty good teams that'll be watching from the stands, or not watching at all this week.
Here are some of the best teams that didn't make the regional tournament
Apollo (20-6)
lost to Daviess County by 5, Apollo had the most wins in the 3rd Region
Iroquois (20-9)
lost to Doss by 3, played in one of the toughest districts in the state
Lou. Holy Cross (21-8)
lost to Fairdale by 4, wins over Male, Bullitt Central, North Bullitt, and PRP
Mason County (21-6)
lost to Augusta by 1 in OT, 3rd most wins in the region
Buckhorn (20-8)
lost by 10 to Perry County Central, 20 win season

Definitely have to agree with you on Buckhorn in the 14th. 20 wins and they beat half the teams in the regional tourney (Breathitt, Wolfe, Powell, and Estill). The 54th District is definitely one of Eastern Kentucky's hardest districts to get out of, if not one of the toughest in the state.

Bryan Station was pretty good.

I think your list is pretty solid.

In the 13th alone, teams like South Laurel, Harlan County, and Whitley County could have easily pulled off an upset and won region but didn't even make the tourney.
There was a lot of parity in the 13th this year.

There IS a great deal of parity in the 13th. However, that is only because there are no really good teams. There is a boat load of mediocre teams, none that I could put on a list of the best teams in KY not to make the regional tournament.

I think it said best teams to not make regionals. So I was thinking best in region. I know Whitley played 6 teams in the tourney and beat 5 of them. So I feel Whitley was a good team in the region that didn't make the tourney.
Heck, the whole state is mediocre really. We have maybe 3-4 major college recruits a year.

^ I think I can think of 3 or 4 in the 11th region alone this year, plus another 3 or 4 in the 7th.

I was listing some of the better teams statewide, but my intent was to have teams for each region.

Mason County would have to be one of the best teams not to make the regional tourney again
