Madison Southern 70 Harlan County 54

What the heck happened here? I don't believe MS is a great team? This looks like a really bad loss? MS was 2-4 coming into this game.

Scheduling. the bears had not played anyone but Clay.

We couldn't throw it in the ocean!! MS #35 hit from anywhere and everywhere!! Time to regroup!!

Congratulations Madison Southern.

Scheduling? Looked at their schedule and from this point on, Harlan Co. has a very good schedule.

I also believe they will be up and down this year, but will get better with more games under their belts.

Cuz asked what happened here, didn't see it coming. The answer is scheduling they have not played anyone no one is for sure on what kind of team they have yet. May turn out to be good, may just turn out to be so-so, just can't tell by there schedule so for.

Their schedule hasn't been the most challenging, but they have also won all of the games they should have. They also had every chance to beat Clay County on their home floor.

This loss does come as a surprise, but if you look at Madison Southern's record, they've won three out of their last four. I don't know much about them, but they probably had some sort of layover from football season and are just now getting it together.

I think the Black Bears will be fine. Coach Mike Jones will have them ready to go.

When you have Bad shooting night and get out hustled this can happen, hopefully this team will realize to give everything they have while they are on the floor because plenty of depth on the team. Hustle and grid will make this team dangerous but lack of it will make it disappointing.

Black Bear fans, give this team a break. We lost all those seniors last year and have a VERY young team this year. Give them time. Our schedule is challenging from this time out and will make this team better by tourney time. We will be ok. Just be patient. Give this team time to mature.

This team is not that young, they have 4 juniors and 1 senior starting and their first sub is a junior (Z Wilson) who is arguably their most talented player. I don't think anyone is down on the team, just wondering why they show up in Berea not ready to play? We can sit around and think up excuses all day long, but being very young is not one of them IMO, especially considering how long these kids have played together with all the summer games and JV games. They have won tons of games including a JV AAU state championship so they are seasoned players. I believe they will be fine also, just a little disappointed they showed up and laid an egg up in Central Ky.

I agree. They aren't that young. They do have only one senior though, and this is his first year of high school basketball, so no one on the team had started in a high school varsity game until this year, unless Caldwell got one or two starts last year.
They are going to have ups and downs. Even senior-dominated teams have some of those. I can't think of many teams around here that haven't laid an egg a few times. There will be more, I imagine, for this year's Bears.
If you recall though, the earlier reference to the JV state championship was downplayed by some because the "best player" had left.

I guess I should have said inexperienced. That's really what I meant.
