Good game lady panthers.

Tough fought game by both. Game was closer than the score. Second quarter killed the Lady Tigers. I think they were outscored 16-6. If not mistake 1st was even, 3rd Panthers by 2, 4th even.
Another factor in this one was amont of FTs by each team. Lady Tigers had TWO (2) FT attempts the ENTIRE game. Next to Pikeville's 23. The Panthers were in the Double Bonus BOTH halves and the Tigers never reached the Bonus either half.
Officiating....lol. At least have a little tact about yourselves. JV Game, ALL THREE Varsity Officials sat in the Pikeville fan section. Varsity Game, was told BOTH JV Officials sat there as well. I myself only saw one. Just didn't look to hard for the other....lol.
Anyway. Grats to the Lady Panthers. Nunemaker and Potter a a nice one two punch. Maybe we'll get a re-match at the Expo next month.

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

I've sat in that gym many a time, so where do you expect them to sit? In the middle of the home teams fans and have Pikeville people accuse them of the same thing if calls went against them? Fact is, sitting in the stands has little to no impact on their calls. I've seen them sit on the Pikeville side at Pikeville, talk to friends, etc then go and call a bunch of fouls against Pikeville. Small area like this, they will undoubtedly know people on both fan base sides. Lose-lose situation.

Look at it this way, maybe, just maybe, the Pikeville girls actually fouled less? That much less, I don't know, but it's a possibility. That goes back to coaching to the tighter new rules. Spears is a long time coach, I'm sure he knows what to emphasize. Good game to both teams, glad it was an injury free game, and good luck to both as the season progresses.

Been following Pikeville basketball for years and only even recognized one of the varsity refs. In a gym that only has one side it's is difficult to see who sits where, given that Paintsville was at home and had 20 X as many fans and they were actually sitting among the Pikeville people. Also, Paintsville fouled numerous times down the stretch trying to turn the game at the free through line. The other observation on the foul situation was defense played. Paintsville played man to man almost entire game and Pikeville played 1-2-2 zone all but 90 seconds of the game. Paintsville got very little going toward the goal but Pikeville continued to attack the rim. The difference in the fouls shot had everything to do with how the coaches decided to play defense and attack on offense and absolutely nothing to do with refs.
