Harlan Co 50 Clay Co 42
#1
Looks like this May be the most balance the 13th has ever had.

It still surprises me to see Clay not beating everyone by 30.
Im glad it has finally evened out a little bit.

Maybe HDE knows how many region games they won in a row.

This game was closer than the final score indicates. Clay had the ball down 43-42 inside of 2 min. Harlan Co. came up with a steal then scored the last 7 pts of the game from the line. Good early season game by both teams.

Sounds like a great game to start the season.

It was a great game - tied after one quarter and at halftime. HCHS had an 11-0 run to start the second half. Clay got as close as one on two occasions in the fourth quarter.

From 2005-2006 until Whitley beat them last year they were roughly 122-2. Both losses coming in 2007-2008 to Whitley and South Laurel (region final). One of the more impressive streaks in Kentucky High School Basketball history if you ask me. Never could get it done in Bowling Green. Seems like every year we were beat by the #1-2 team in the state except maybe Rowan in 2010 or Ohio the year before.

However, it is balanced now and that makes it more enjoyable for other programs.

I have been saying all along that Harlan Co. wasn't getting enough credit for how good they really are. I could easily see them winning their District over Bell Co. According to the web this game was played at Clay Co..... It is no easy task to beat them at home! Good Job Lady Black Bears!

I still think this says more about Clay being down, then Harlan Co being really good. Don't misunderstand, Harlan Co is a quality team, but Clay is going to have a lot of bumps this season. I stand by my earlier prediction that North will challenge them for District Title this season!!!

Who replaced the two big girls that Clay had last year?

Roberts and Woods are the new starters.
Clay is still pretty good. They just don't have a lot of depth.
