UT Martin 16 Eastern Kentucky 7
#1
RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team struggled on offense all afternoon as the Colonels fell to UT Martin, 16-7, Saturday afternoon at Roy Kidd Stadium.

Saturday's victory was the first ever for the Skyhawks at Roy Kidd Stadium. UT Martin (7-4, 5-2 OVC) had lost its previous 11 games in Richmond.

UT Martin held the Colonels (6-5, 4-3) to a season-low 80 yards on the ground, while racking up 215 yards of its own. Abou Toure led the Skyhawks with 111 yards rushing on 17 carries. DJ McNeil added 47 yards on the ground and a touchdown in the second quarter.

The Skyhawks capitalized off an EKU fumble on the first play from scrimmage taking over at the EKU 25. UTM kicker Jackson Redditt split the uprights with a 38-yard field goal, giving UTM an early 3-0 lead.

Redditt ended the day 3-for-3 in field goal attempts, while recording a career-best 51-yard field goal late in the first quarter to extend the visitors' lead to 6-0. McNeil scored from nine yards out right before halftime to make the score 13-0.

The Colonels' lone score came on a one-yard sneak from back-up quarterback Kyle Romano in the third quarter. Two key completions from Romano to wide receivers Devin Borders and Jeff Glover helped the Colonels find the end zone.

Romano hit Borders in stride for a 42-yard gain to the UTM 22 before finding Glover for a 17-yard completion to set up the score.

However, UTM added a fourth quarter field goal with 11:19 left, and then picked off Romano twice, ending the Colonels' run at a comeback.

Eastern Kentucky concludes the season next Saturday, Nov. 23 at Murray State. Game time is set for 1 p.m. ET.

NOTES
--Wide receiver Devin Borders blocked his fifth kick of the year in the second quarter, a 36-yard field goal attempt by UT Martin.

--Punter Jordan Berry ended the first half with a 76-yard punt, coming up two yards shy of the EKU record set in 1966.

--With the win, UT Martin improves to 2-22 all-time against the Colonels.
