Two things on this one .... For some reason Estill asked that the clock keep running, half way through the 2nd quarter, and when I say running I mean run through touchdowns, kick offs, and as soon as the timeout whistles blew. Really weird game

The biggest thing is that bourbons star qb went down with what appeared to be a pretty serious leg injury. If it's as bad as it sounded and looked, I would say his return is unlikely. This owould diminish any hopes of the Belfry upset, as he is without a doubt the fuel that runs their engine. When the backup came in, they were a totally different team.

Really hate to hear that HSFOOTBALL. Pope is one heckuva player. Thoughts of the Belfry fans are with him hoping it isn't a serious injury and the results come back negative.

Belfry was hit ridiculously hard by the injury bug last night. They entered without their starting FB, DE, and Safety. They finished the game without their best HB, their #1 sub at HB and CB, their star WR, thei other DE, and their other starting safety get ejected.

Xondre Willis, who is essentially like losing a starter because he plays so many snaps at CB and at HB, may have been lost for the season as well. Hopefully the rest are minor injuries.

My fear is Belfry is about to go to the defending 3A Champs in TN and get blown back to Pond Creek next week.

From what I understand Pope broke his leg and you're right without Pope offense is a different machine way he runs the no huddle offense And makes audibles at the line.

I figured if they did me belfry in the semis it would be whoever has the ball last because I don't think Bourbon's defense can stop belfry but with Pope out I don't think Bourbon will be able to keep up

From what I was told, Estill DIDN'T ask for the clock to run. Once a team is up 36 points, the clock continues to run except for timeouts and touchdowns. The refs screwed it up and ran through some of the timeouts and touchdowns.

If Estill had came back and tied it up or brought it to within a TD the clock would have still ran.

It's the new mercy rule deal this year

Was impressed with Pope last year and wish him the best no matter the extent of his injury. I hate to see any kid hurt, Lord knows Belfry had several banged up/ injured last night.

I hope Pope's injury is not serious. Game sounds like the score is not indicative of the difference in the teams.
