Bourbon atleast scored, something to look on... The schedule gets easier for the Colonels, I hope they win a game this year...

1. Because Shelby Valley isn't a top notch program
2. Rockcastle is a top 5 team in 3A so even their young guys tend to better than very bad teams like Bourbon County
3. Phelps is actually a good enough to win games and compete and Valley blew them away putting up 79. Phelps did win 4 games last season.
4. Bourbon County is very, very bad and is currently in the midst of a 25 game losing streak where every team in the past 3 seasons now has scored atleast 55 points against them with the exception of 5 occassions.
5. Phelps hasn't had 79 points on them since who knows when. I checked back as far as the 1998 season and the most points they had ever had hung on them was a 62-30 loss to Hazard in 1998. The biggest score differential I could find since 1998 was a 60-0 loss last season to Pikeville.

That's why Valley is getting hammered for "running up the score." Just the same as Prestonsburg was hammered last year for the same against Magoffin County.

HOW a team scores that many points matters more than just the score alone.

Bourbon, Im sure they paid them to play in that game being a bowl game and all.
WOW, Bourbon playing THE ROCK. Mabey the guy feels the only way to get better is to play better competition, I'm just trying to think of a reason why they would play Rockcastle co.(lol)

Rock is a class program they will score at will on most teams and like Tomcat68 stated there 2nd and 3rd strings are better than most starting line-ups. And its mostly on the ground so its not like there throwing 30 passes a game.

I wasn't at the game, but Rick Massie never complained about a score being run up...

Bourbon lost to Lex Cath 89-3 last year, I think this is being made a bigger deal than it really is....
